Transfers (rumours) thread

If this truly is the case maybe they're looking at Clyne being able to move across to cover should he get injured. Could be hard to keep both him and Chambers happy otherwise.

AgreedWe also acquire flexibility at left back with a new left sided centre back too.

Depends what system we play this season. If Koemann goes with a back three, you could see Chambers as one of those back three with Clyne as a wing-back.

Might be some truth in it - might not be... Probably just agent talk.

Last year it was Ryad Boudebouz & Gonzalo Bueno

We have probably had scouts looking at him, but for me it´s a big no. He´s far from good enough and would prefer a few youngsters from U21 before this guy.

I also remember Kennedy Igboananike (who plays for the same team as this Bahoui guy) getting linked a few times last summer.

Good in theory but he is our only LB now so need an addition either way.

The clubs intentions have been to utilise the academy in way to offset the amount of sales. Matt has been earmarked for the first team slot for a while - it will be him. There is no urgency at the club to sign a new LB fwiw. Matt is that highly thought of.

We still need a left back regardless

If he's that highly thought of, why hasn't he even had a 15 mins run out for the first team for the whole of last season? Hell of a lot of pressure to put on his shoulders as well. We need to buy a leftback.

I'd be very worried if we start season with only one left back, and that being an unproven(if potentially talented) academy prospect. Don't view playing right backs at left back as a sensible plan.

Typical 'Wheeler-dealer'' deal. Rio was a top player, but as we saw at Man Utd his time at the top level is and was coming to an end.

The Cardiff CB is a good signing though, especially at £8m. Bit of a bargain.

I don't mind the club looking to bring a couple more kids next season but if it is there intention to fill the majority of the sales of our star players with acedemy kids then we are in big big trouble!!

We will also be 100% lied to by the board who said that the transfer monies from the sale of players would be reinvested in the team

Currently very very unimpressed with our board who haven't even managed to get one signing over the line when the club and fans desperately needs a bit of good news.

I thought this week was meant to be better for Saints. So far it has been total shi*e what with more negative stories on Lovren and Morgan and now even Fonte linked away and now Tadic looking unlikely.

Really frustrating being a Saints supporter

Don't get me wrong, we'll still buy players - but the club don't share the same level of panic as us. Expect to see Reed, Gallagher, JWP, Targett, Mcqueen all have roles next season - some more than others, but they will add to the squad. We're not going to spend £80m on new players, that won't happen. I can see £30-40m spent max, on good players such as Tadic, Pele, Forster.....and that's not a bad blend, and let's not forget - In Koeman we have a coach who is renown for bringing the best out of young players, this is one of the reasons he was so sought after by us.

A dangerous gamble in my view.

Southampton approaching agreement with Feyenoord about Pellè

The leadership of Feyenoord has a bid from Southampton to Graziano Pelle consideration. The club of Rotterdam can get around eight million euros for the striker and that amount may in the future reach over ten million. Using bonuses. The Rotterdam now realize that Pelle, who has shown no hesitation to be reunited with coach Ronald Koeman, not maintain is dying. This week, the club decides on the amount offered. 's management Pellè left last night knowing that there is still no question of an agreement. Both parties seem to be heading there. Away at Feyenoord, which is also Bruno Martins Indi late to go to Porto for more than eight million do not wish to comment on the pending sale of the club's top scorer.

Told you weeks ago caulker has already been to staplewood. I think he will be a saints player

Didn't somebody here post a picture of him in Antigua on the day you said he was at Staplewood? As much as I would love Caulker, I think he'll be lured back to London (and by 'Arry flashing his brown envelopes about)
