Transfers (rumours) thread

Of course. Though there was a huge change to poch and that went ok. We had the same situation with kl, signs showed she wasn't interested and we was gonna sell up etc it would have been easy to assume that.

We've lost one player, and have one injured. We've also lost a manager but appointed one who is generally well accepted and positive. That's the position lets worry about the rest as and when. Assumptions are after all the mother of all **** ups.

You continue to jump to the conclusion that because the club aren't giving fans a minute by minute outline of their transfer dealings that the club is doing nothing to line-up new players. Just because they aren't telling us what they are doing doesn't mean by default nothing is happening. Les Reed has now stated publicly on a number of occasions they have a number of targets even before a new manager joined.

That doesn't even address the questions.

I know things are happening behind the scenes and said nothing about asking for updates etc.

What I am saying is we have a lot to do, more the previous 3 or 4 summers. But people seem to disagree, which is fine, its what the Forum is about.

If people think you are automatically a "bed wetter" for thinking we have a lot to do in order to build our team for next season then so be it.

World cup summers are always a bit different transfer wise, well in the PL anyway. As we've not really been involved with that since 2002 we've just forgotten how different they are that's all.

True, we havent been in this market in a WC year for a while.

Also slightly bad luck that its this year we will need to replace a key player or players. We havent had to do that for a while either.

FAO Saint Charlie.... This is small selection of why some think youre a troll / WUM / one to be ignored

What a complete **** up the last couple of months have been.

Way to ruin a few years of good work.

When mopo left you posted - He would have stayed if we were ambitious.

We will probably lose 5 of our best players this summer

New manager thread you posted - Leta be honest. No Manager at the top of his game will be interested

Sorry, but anyone who thinks we will emerge stronger from this window is barking mad.

Its damage limitation already.

Youve become a real bore mate. One to ignore for sure

We've lost 1 player and pre-season training for those not at the World Cup is 10 days away. There really isn't a need for panic stations and jumping to conclusions.

If he leaves, they are going to need to spend a large chuck of that on a star striker

No Kidding. In the last few days we've seen Suarez playing without Sturridge and Sturridge playing without Suarez. None of our players are irreplaceable on anything like the same level as Suarez is for Liverpool.

Yes, I'm a little anxious about our back row BUT optimistic we'll be more effective up front (all that possession for so few goals) and I'm very happy that we look like keeping our engine room intact.

The alleged budget, used effectively, could easily make us a better side - and especially squad - than we were last year. We were ticking along nicely until the injuries hit.

False Libero in twitter seems to think we are geting Ings - know him personally and not the sort to make things up/fabricate.

I don't know who False Libero is and what he/she does for a living but it was spooky that we both broke this news two weeks ago on here on the same day. I don't know if he/she was at the same meeting that day that involved the Ings family, but we have both been told the same news that Dannys Ings was deciding between an offer from us and one from Liverpool. The only plus side in our favour is that he is very close to family members that are here in Southampton.

Surely burnley won't stand in his way in coming home. Seeing that is all the rage now

I believe you about Ings. Don't recall you saying much ITK stuff so not the sort to come out with nonsense

Cheers Batman for thepositive post. I will only ever post what i believe is genuine information for fellow Saints fans. Those that have good memories on here will remember that it was me that broke the news several weeks before the Dutch duo were appointed! (Portoloo) I try and keep factual

I'm sure Saint Charlie didn't use to be this negative. In the last 6 months you have been jumping to a large number of very negative conclusions with very little evidence to support it.

The weird thing is that you think that you get a feeling for posters point of view/personality then suddenly it changes.. Saint Charlie used to be a decent poster......now if you see his name on a post you know that it is going to be Alpinesque before you even read it.....what happened?

Saint Charlie was indeed once a decent poster, someone I once considered a friend. Tragically, he's turned into an obnoxious, arrogant, conniving poster who sets out to make people believe he's an insider, knows everything that no other person knows, not even the players themselves. Something very sad must have happened in life to this once decent young man. He had a brilliant mind, yet how can he spend all the time on here, spouting really annoying posts, designed to anger, irritate and send confusion thru all the supporters who are members of this forum. Time after time he contradicts his own statements, signaling the state of his once brilliant mind. It's not done to counteract the destruction of this once marvelous forum. Alas, instead of holding his ground, rising above it all, silencing the fools, trolls and idiots, he joined them and has sunk to a level few on here have sunk.

Quality, not quality. Truth not streams of blatant lies.

Bargain?

Reports in Holland are claiming that Porto are interested in signing Netherlands international Bruno Martins Indi from Feyenoord. Martins Indi, who can play at centre-half or left-back, was born in Portugal and Porto are ready to offer €8million (£6.4m) for the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with Everton and Manchester United.

Really weird. The tragic fall from grace of the prodigiously gifted poster, Saint Charlie. So sad.

A bit of a coincidence is that Saint Charlie went all negative about the same time as Mr Sanchez was banned. You don't think that Charlie is related to good ole'Bazza do you?

No one disagrees there's work to be done.

It's the constant stream of pampers stained crap coming from you since the end of the season that gets tedious.

How's the asset strip? How's the mackay/Hughton ilk manager? How's the falling through of the Koeman deal? How's that mass exodus?

Still don't get the Alpine comparisons?

Saint Charlie, Batman/delldays and Crab Lungs have been left with egg on face and a loss of any credibility over the last few months/weeks posts. They all seem bitter and hostile towards the new regime.

Anyone guess why??

There is an interesting link between Bazza's UI posts and Saint Charlie's on here. Check it out!

He had a gift for being incredibly dumb. Maybe time you should migrate over to the football forum wasteland that is the UI?

I could do, although naively I feel that I could still have it in me to contribute at this level.

Will try to refocus and come up with some of my better material, back to the days where I was thought of as a future member of the "one of the good posters that no longer posts and you can see why" club.

Quality (positive) posts only from here on in.

Charlie perhaps you should try and remember that this is a fans forum and means jack all frankly. Stop taking yourself or your opinions so seriously.

Bit worried about these links to CM's. I hope RK doesn't ignore the quality we have in that position, it's one of the positions we don't need to fix.

Strikers and defenders with a keeper...::

Danny Ings is surely doable if we wanted him. Only 1 year left on his contract

In a probably futile attempt to return to vaguely the topic area; Serge Aurier has signed for Arsenal. Hopefully this ends any Chambers to Arsenal speculation!

This may reduce the Chambers to Arsenal fictions that have been printed but lets not call them 'speculation' because that almost gives credence to the publishing of downright lies, which is the main stock in trade of the football pages in the gutter press. Oh well, may as well get of the fence and admit that I'm not a fan of newspapers.

Agree, its our best position plus the one with probably the most emerging talent too.

Would see him as more of a replacement for an outgoing player than a signing to add to what we have.

Also we must have loads of players we are monitoring and GB is on a free so makes sense to keep tabs on him.

For once I'm ITK:

Gareth Barry is on Saints transfer target list. 90% sure this is true. Source had no reason to lie and his story of how he found out is legit.

The only reason to sign him is as cover for Big Vic, and that means we are letting Jack Cork go.

Can't see this one happening at all. Although I'm sure he would act as sufficient midfield cover, Barry's wages would be disproportionate to that role and we would never be able to make money when selling him in the future because of his age. It also seems to be completely contradictory to club transfer policy. In comparison, Jack Cork is surely the more viable option.

Perhaps one of them is leaving but is just being discreet about it. DD doesn't allow transfer bolloaks at his training camps, more fool Hodgson for letting everyone do as theyy liked.
