hasper57saint Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 Yet again more speculation by a Journo. I'm 'monitoring' my Lottery Ticket. Does that mean I'm going to win?Has Dejan 'actually' said he'd like to move to Manure? Has Luke even considered leaving. Where do Bears do their business? and if you don't see a tree fall how do you know it makes a noise? All I can add to the article is 'Wet birds do not fly at night'
Lighthouse Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 Only way to avoid it is not to have any good players. I remember this time five years ago, people were 'worried' about losing David McGoldrick in summer.
Turkish Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 I remember this time five years ago, people were 'worried' about losing David McGoldrick in summer. I don't think they were. I remember in our relegation from the championship season he was given all sorts of abuse from the crowd, pretty shameful way to treat a young lad playing in a skint, crap team with a crap manager heading for relegation IMO.

Some people were worried. I don't remember him getting any particular stick from the crowd, although there is always the occasional knobber shooting his mouth off. My overriding memory of that season is of 14,000 people sitting in silence.

shurlock Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 5 years ago Jan-Paul Saeijs was our cult CB. Today it's a Champions League international and Man U target.
PhilippineSaint Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 I could see Lovren going to utd Why would anybody go to Manure they will be in exactly the same boat as us next season. The league and 2 cups to play for. They Will probably have a new Manager who will bring in more players and unsettle the already unsettled and depleted squad they have had there time its midtable obscurity for them for at aleast a few years I Hope.

Sorry mate - If a firm offer comes in from utd for any player, It will be almost impossible to keep them. They are still one of the worlds biggest clubs, can **** on our wages and challenge for things we cant. If you really think the player (Not the club) would turn them down, then I think you are dreaming

If you really think the player (Not the club) would turn them down, then I think you are dreaming Wouldn't be too sure on that. Utd will now be faced with one of the biggest wage bills in Europe and no Champions League football. I can't see their board chucking silly wages at players like Lovren to get them back into the top 4. Besides, we are hardly in the business of paying our players peanuts these days. Our top players will be earning a fairly healthy wage. I don't know Lovren's wages but I doubt Utd will be blowing them out the water. I'm not saying he wouldn't go but without CL football it wont be the no-brainer you think.
sandwichsaint Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 5 years ago Jan-Paul Saeijs was our cult CB. Today it's a Champions League international and Man U target. Watford away, one love, one Saints. I'm not spending the next 6 months playing will-he-won't-he. Que sera sera.
shurlock Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 Watford away, one love, one Saints. I'm not spending the next 6 months playing will-he-won't-he. Que sera sera. Very true - that's part of the beauty of the game that trundles on regardless of who's playing for us or how we're doing.
John Boy Saint Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 I remember him being abused and sarcastically applauded and cheered when he was subbed, can't remember the game but he did okay, even the echo picked up on it to say how he didn't deserve the stick he got. Some wag up behind us, whenever he had to run at full tilt would always shout "Run Forrest Run" which was amusing as flat out he did look like Mr Gump.

I can't see their board chucking silly wages at players like Lovren to get them back into the top 4. £130m in sponsorship deals means they can still chuck the reddies around, even without champions league football. If they come in for him they will increase his wages. If they bid enough he will go. Hopefully he has gone under the radar just enough.

If they come in for him they will increase his wages. If they bid enough he will go. Hopefully he has gone under the radar just enough. Hope so too. Clean sheets have largely dried up in the last few months - yes, partly he was absent, partly others to blame etc but it helps keep us below the radar a little more Edited 21 March, 2014 by Bucks Saint
Saint_Tony Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 To think people have been moaning about this season. Enjoy it, because if any of these rumours have any truth in them, then things are only going to get worse
Cabrone Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 Can see this one happening, hope not but looks like a decent fit for Utd and they are going to turn any players head.
View From The Top Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 If one of the biggest clubs in world football comes in for you then you'd be stupid not to go. He owes us no loyality, he's a professional footballer.
saint si Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 Why would anybody go to Manure they will be in exactly the same boat as us next season. The league and 2 cups to play for. They Will probably have a new Manager who will bring in more players and unsettle the already unsettled and depleted squad they have had there time its midtable obscurity for them for at aleast a few years I Hope. That's precisely why United will be fishing around for players from clubs that have not got CL football next season. They simply aren't going to be able to tempt players away from the elite clubs of European football until they are back in CL themselves (assuming they don't pull of a miracle and win it, anyway). We can't compete with them financially, and the opportunity to build a "new era" at United is greater than the similar opportunity to build something at Saints, no matter how much we might wish it was not the case.
Crazy Diamond Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 I'd rather support a club where we had a great deal of interest in our players than a club where everyone thought our squad was one massive pile of sh*te. Barry Fry at Peterborough once told his players 'the only reason you're playing for me at this club is because no one else wants you.' Would you want to support a club in that state?

G Nev is always waxing lyrical about how good he is,he was on a list recently of the top 50 players in Europe and the relentless Southampton love in we have had from pundits/press means that not one single player of ours has gone under the radar this season.if anything we have been over exposed this season

DuncanRG Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 Yet again more speculation by a Journo. I'm 'monitoring' my Lottery Ticket. Does that mean I'm going to win?l No. But you don't say you're going to win, and the reporter hasn't said that Lovren's going to sign for Manchester United. It is not speculation, it is reporting. So many people fail to get that through their heads. Anyway, I'm not at all surprised they're looking at Lovren. He'd probably be a very good signing for them, he's just the sort of leader they've missed since Vidic faded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Supersubpuckett Posted 21 March, 2014 Posted 21 March, 2014 lovren - man utd shaw - chelsea morgan - arsenal lallana - many many possibilities get used to it
