Give it to Ron Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 In discussion with a thick Skate ref "Total Liabilities 59,772,276 GBP" "assets -33,340,566 GBP " https://www.duedil.com/company/00053301/southampton-football-club-limited/financ - See more at: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/forum/106671/page:2/#47 I was certain as a meeting I was told players are not are not classed as assets - certainly not those in the Academy or ones that are 'home grown'. Can anyone confirm if that changed lately?
Whitey Grandad Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 I always thought that they were with their values written down over the length of their contract.
Give it to Ron Posted 20 March, 2014 Author Posted 20 March, 2014 I always thought that they were with their values written down over the length of their contract. Thats why I believed home grown cant be as how do you value them?
the saint in winchester Posted 20 March, 2014 Posted 20 March, 2014 The accounting concept is that you value them at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Think of Shaw and Chambers. Cost zero, NRV ... £10M to £30M. TBH, I'm not sure how players are valued in the BS. Interesting. This is why I would like to work in Saints accounting office, to find out.
