And the majority of Crimean people want to be Russian.

Are the reports of the new Ukrainian government seeking to drop Russian as an official language accurate?

Hadn't heard that one, but it wouldn't surprise me.

The majority of Californians possibly want one (it wouldn't last) but Texas does really want it, my point is you can give the vote in a democratic manner as what will probably happen in the future in the states.

No where have you heard that?

The new Ukrainian Parliament voted to repeal the law that permits regional use of languages other than Ukrainian for official purposes - the interim President has currently refused to sign the change into law.

"The Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) abolished the 2012 law “On State Language Policy” the day after it voted to dismiss President Viktor Yanukovich. The law allowed the country’s regions to use more official languages in addition to Ukrainian if they were spoken by over 10 percent of the local population. Thirteen out of Ukraine’s 27 regions, primarily in Eastern Ukraine, then adopted Russian as a second official language. Two Western regions introduced Romanian and Hungarian as official languages."

So, to clarify, they voted to drop Russian as a language about a day before the Russians decided to roll in to Crimea with unmarked troops and used this a one of the reasons.

Worth watching RT & BBC at the moment to try and form a balanced picture.

So nothing has changed and Russian will be an equal language? Fair play.

You obviously dont and the British were sent in to stop tensions and protect the Nationlist community, only after a period of time did that community see it as an occupation force.

I refer you to Brookes speech in 1990, learn something today.

I could seriously bore you in the history of Northern Ireland.

Complete b0ll0x. Check out Irelands history and you'll see the brits were always the occupying force. Both in the south until they reteated into northern ireland. A semi-withdrawal.

Tell me when the brits were welcome in Ireland? Do you honestly believe what your saying?

Retreated? Where did they retreat from? I thought they went there from the mainland.
