Matthew Le God Posted 19 March, 2014 Share Posted 19 March, 2014 (edited) Construction is well underway to take Cardiff's capacity to over 39,000... Phase one, which is the development in the photo above takes it above St Mary's capacity. Cardiff were averaging 3k as recently as 1998 and 11k in 2006! - Cardiff's promotion year from League One in 2003 saw them average 13k, compared to Saints promotion year from League One of 21k. - Cardiff's promotion year from the Championship in 2013 saw them average 22k, compared to Saints promotion year from the Championship of 26k. Matthew Le God Posted 19 March, 2014 Share Posted 19 March, 2014 (edited) are wolves getting better attendances after their stadium expansions? Genuine question no trolls pls They are averaging around 20k, which is less than we did in League One. Phase 1 is complete, they want it to eventually look like this... That would take capacity far in excess of St Mary's capacity. Phase 3 to 38k and phase 4 to 50k. The first of their new stands is the middle one... Tokyo-Saint Posted 19 March, 2014 Share Posted 19 March, 2014 (edited) They are averaging 20,001 this year bear. I guess the extra one is MLG just taking pics. Year before was 21,662. Year before that was 25,682 but they did have Mick McCathy and he is a big crowd puller. Attendance has gone down since the giant David Dickenson Pic went up. Edited 19 March, 2014 by Tokyo-Saint For more interesting MLG style stats.

Remember they are in League One this season, and previously the Championship.

Saints foreva Posted 19 March, 2014 Share Posted 19 March, 2014 Cardiff will never fill a 39,000 seater and Wolves certainly won't fill 50,000 (although those plans seem to be on hold at the moment).

It's costing £12M to add another 8,000 capacity. Same cost as Swansea's proposed expansion. The £3k per seat quoted previously for St.Mary's seems wide of the mark and is not in line with current market rates.
