Maybe we are just a few players short of a top four finish, maybe a lot of sides could say the same perhaps, but if you had to, which players do you think would need replacing next season to kick us on? BORUC/FONTE/DAVIES/LAMBERT

It's hard to say, because it's not always replacing your weak links that counts for the most.

 

But looking at it that way I'd replace Lambert, Osvaldo, Boruc and Fonte/Hooiveld, depending on how Jose does against the new guy.

the only problem is getting these sorts of players in

 

not many LB players will want to be on stand by behind a 18 year old

 

Depending what will happen with Osvaldo (assuming he will sign for juvenitus) I can defo see another striker coming

 

Boruc for me is starting to crack a bit, he made many mistakes against Norwich for which bigger teams will use against us!

 

just hope we can keep hold of our main players and bring in a few good ones, El shawwary maybe?

In order of preference for replacing (not necessarily selling), and assuming we don't lose anybody:

Davis or Ramirez

Fonte

Lambert (although I think he will be the hardest to replace within our budget and assuming we're not going to break our transfer record)

Boruc

 

 

I'm assuming Osvaldo was meant to be Lambert's replacement but has been written and sold

Yes, and the LB situation will need clearing up too.

 

Ramirez and Osvaldo as well. My trust in Gashy delivering consistently has gone; he's only making an effort now because the WC is coming up and he wants a good move over the summer.

I was on his side previously but I'm thinking of picking up pitch-fork and joining the villagers. I reckon him and osvaldo, they never really wanted to be here. They joined us begrudgingly and i don't reckon we want players like that.

Similar to last summer we need a first choice GK, first choice CB, first choice attacking midfielder that can unlock a defence and a first choice striker. So essentially strengthening the spine of the team. Additionally one more striker on top of that would be a plus, to strengthen us further, depending on the future of Mayuka.

 

As as for left back, it depends on whether the club trusts in the development of Targett, and until then we use the Chambers/Clyne combo as back up to Luke.

 

That at is the minimum we need for top 4 IMO, although losing one or two of the jewels would prove costly.

We may be 4 players short, but those 4 players would probably cost north of £30m each.

Well I think most would all like to see a top notch keeper in, if Cardiff go down I'd like to see us go for Marshall, he has been outstanding from the games I've seen him play.

We need to upgrade at CB to give Fonte & Lovren some competition. And a striker is a given. Sounds like Lukaku could be available, but probably be out bid by a bigger club for him.

I would like cover at Left back but who knows how far off Targett is from stepping up, guess we will have to trust in the management team for that one. Let's be fair we didn't didn't see Chambers starting the season & stepping up this season.

I can see Gaston going, so maybe go for a playmaker number 10 call it what you will.

We are one CB away from having one of the best back fours in the premier league imo. However, we are short up front.

 

So, we need a CB and a striker to improve the first team, plus a few others to provide strength to the squad. I think our midfield is ok, providing no-one leaves.
