Tamesaint Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 One of the justifications for moving to a new stadium so many years ago was the claim that we would get extra commercial income through the hospitality boxes. In our early SMS days in the Premiership they always seemed to be full. I can appreciate that their popularity would diminish as we slid down the league but surely by now we should be seeing demand exceeding supply and most if not all of them of them should be occupied? Yesterday barely half the boxes were occupied. This has been the case for most of this season. Any idea why so many of the boxes are unoccupied? Did the evil Emperor make them unaffordable or is there another reason? I woud imagine this is one of the areas which RK will look at in his desire to increase commercial income. nta786 Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 Some people can barely afford a ticket let alone hospitality! It is ridiculous expensively... Thats all it is to it... IMO...
The Kraken Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 They are bloody expensive This. And given that some boxes have sold out for the whole season, it kind of restricts how much you can just slash prices to encourage sales. I'd imagine that next season might see a reduction in price. Delboy Dave Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 How much are they for a game? And what exactly do you get?
Patrick Bateman Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 How much are they for a game? And what exactly do you get? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/documents/61210-hospo-brochure-new-web148-869934.PDF The box is too expensive - you can have individual seats for £245+VAT (I think), but not sure why you'd do that and share a box rather than do the medium two packages which are half the price!? Also, in my opinion/view, corporate entertaining could possibly generally be on the decline due to a) cost savings within companies and b) people not wanting to fall foul of company bribery rules. I get people wanting to take me to all sorts of events, but my company policy is that I'm simply not allowed to accept any of them. Same at my last company too. Oh and also, there is competition from other places. I.e. you can do a "hospitality package" at South Western House for £50 (nice food and drinks) then sit in a normal seat in the ground for £38!? Its because its crap, did it last year at a cost of nearly 4k and it wasn't worth half that.
CB Fry Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 I would say this is the kind of thing RK has been talking about. This, and replacing the pitiful shirt sponsorship deal our previous outstanding businessman negotiated, is the start of realising our "untapped commercial potential". Not becoming an internationally renowned football giant as some of the dribblers on this forum have started to believe he meant. We're, like, gonna win da Superbowl and everything. He's going to start by getting that great offensive talent Brad Rank in from keele college now he's graduated in phys Ed. That'll help us sell a few shirts in the West Midlands. colehillsaint Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 Its because its crap, did it last year at a cost of nearly 4k and it wasn't worth half that. I wouldn't say crap. Just over priced. As an aside, they put the price on the individual tickets, which is a bit strange as you tend to need to hand the tickets out to the individuals so they can go through the electronic turnstile. I didn't really want the guests to know how much the box cost as it's a bit in your face really, with modern thinking on hospitality and bribery etc. I suppose the club would delete the price next time if I remember to ask! Dan Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 When we were in the Championship and League 1 they were a good deal, when they removed the free drinks they soon weren't. Half of them are empty and out of the few they actually use, 1 is for ex players.
FloatingbridgeSaint Posted 16 March, 2014 Share Posted 16 March, 2014 I've used the hospitality boxes over the past two seasons on a few occasions. I wouldn't say they are prohibitively expensive on a per game basis however the service to the boxes is truly awful. On a number of occasion we have ordered drinks at half time, which then arrive just in time for the start of the 2nd half for which you have to be out of the room & back into your seats! Cant fault the seat or the ease of getting to the box etc however the service needs to be improved dramatically. I have also made this feedback to the club so they are aware.
