Coasting and then just hand them a couple of goals. Not very professional was it? And that Lovren injury doesn't look too good either.

Still at least it's a win. It wouldn't be Saints if we didn't try and screw things up from a comfortable position.

Bizarre end to the game. Cruising at 3-0 on 85 minutes and looking in no danger whatsoever of letting Norwich back into it. They didn't even have to fight hard or create anything and we just gifted them two goals out of nowhere. Karma is restored though when a very poor defensive error leads to our 4th and in the end a comfortable victory.

My vote for MOTM goes to J-Rod. Had a great game today.

Only 3 points behind Utd (they do have two in hand though) still an outside chance of top 6/7, lets get as close as we can. (shame Everton won)

Good to see Gaston have an impact. We seem to be picking up a few injuries though (Gaston, Wanyama and Lovren) and I'm not sure what all that pass out from the back to a player under pressure was about, would prefer Boruc to kick it off than that. Sloppy passing cost us those two late goals when really we should have had a clean sheet there as Norwich had nothing, probably should have been 4-5 even before then.

Good to see Lambert get a goal and an assist in front of Roy.

having had nothing to do all game, our defenders decided to make the game abit more interesting towards the end... negatives aside, great performance from our forwards, those that started and those that came on. very pleased for young sam getting his first PL goal.

As The Jam once sung .... That's Entertainment, That's Entertainment Lalalalalalalalalalallalaaaaa

Some suicidal play at the back ALL GAME, not just the last 5 mins, but some beautiful build up play as well.

Never a dull moment watching The Saints.

Meanwhile Skatesmuff finally score a goal, but only after letting in 3 against the mighty Fleetwood Lol.

Really enjoyed that. Utterly ridiculous that we let them back in with 2 gift wrapped goals in 2 minutes but we were superior for the entire remainder of the match and I never really thought they would equalise. We look such a good, confident side, stroking the ball about with the opposition chasing shadows for long periods. Complacency needs to be eradicated plus we need to do it against the bigger teams consistently but, fecking hell, what a team we've got.

Just back from the game. It's almost as though Saints feel the steady throb of normal blood pressure amongst the fans and decide it's time to ramp it up a bit!

I thought we were poor first half with the exception of the first ten minutes. Second half, looked much much better when Lambert came on and pushed their centre backs deeper. Classy finish from Lambert, so calm in front of goal, and a great lay off to set up JRod. Thought Morgan had a much better game but JRod MOM for me. First Premier League goal for Big Sam. Many more to come me thinks. Norwich were shocking and will be relegated IMHO. Lovely day which I will now finish off by getting ratted and watching those hideous cock ups on MOTD. I can laugh about it now. Onwards and upwards.

No idea how that compares to other teams. Most goals involve a defensive error somewhere. Bet we haven't given away as many as Spurs and they're above us.

The point is that all of the ones I quoted were committed under absolutely no pressure. We go into a period of absolute lethargy most games and it's so frustrating as it's cost us quite a few points this year.

Manager reaction - Southampton 4-2 Norwich

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "We were leading the game 3-0 and had it in control but we suffered a bit at the end.

"In football nothing is finished until the final whistle. We lacked focus at the back and you can't take anything for granted in the Premier League. We were far superior to Norwich throughout the game and we were playing against a very good team."

Hmm... sloppier than a bagful of slops from the planet Slop on a sloppy day. I'll take the three points though :) Are we safe now?
Agreed. We actually were awful in the 1st half. Norwich worst team at St Marys, even worse than Fulham. Was Boruc on drugs? Seemed intent on getting Norwich back in it. In the end the score was decent but it covers up one of our poorest displays . Motm Steve Davis

Silly end to a game in which were comfortable throughout. First half was dull and devoid of atmosphere as I've seen at St Mary's for a long time, albeit Norwich failed to trouble us save one Hooper shot that went wide.

Lambert changed the game when he came on. Classy finish and a calm set up for Rodriguez. Glad to see Gallagher get his first Premier League goal after we'd decided to gift Norwich two.

Guly showed for the second Norwich goal why he is a joke figure amongst supporters.

He never has any urgency or tempo apart from when chasing lost causes and after the team concedes such a poor goal I couldn't believe how casual he was for the second just a minute later.

He does himself no favours.

Otherwise good win against a woeful Norwich. Morgan, Clyne, Jay and Lambert all good.

Ramirez also had some great moments before being forced off with a knock. But mostly when the team is on top.

No. Not worse than Fulham at home surely? I think the stats suggested that they were the first team in the prem this season not to have had an attempt at goal AT ALL in the whole of the first half...

J rod MOTM for me but agree Morgan was immense. As I was scrolling the thread though I started to remember how good Clyne was. His best game for a while. Gaston coming on nicely but still needs to man up a bit when in possession.glad we got the fourth goal as the two defensive errors threatened to darken the mood a bit.

With his kicks, dodgy passing to players under pressure, palming away their second, was Boruc;

a) carrying more of an injury than we are being told

b) ******ed

c) hungover

d) talking a bung

Certainly made for an entertaining game, and definitely a fully paid up member of the el Loco goalkeepers club.

Gully is a disgrace .

Why on earth he is getting a look in before others

Why persist to play a player that you obviously don't rate if you have told him he is leaving in the summer.

There must be something in his contract surly as he would not be getting picked on Merritt

He is so rubbish its not funny.

Other than him we are looking a quality squad .
