SuperSAINT Posted 18 August, 2014 Share Posted 18 August, 2014 Their Gaffer indicates its now unlikely they will get him: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28837356 We'll probably loan him out if we bring in another right back.
VectisSaint Posted 18 August, 2014 Share Posted 18 August, 2014 Their Gaffer indicates its now unlikely they will get him: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28837356 Possibly because they have got Jordan Turnbull instead. Seems odd he didn't mention that little fact. Think if we were going to loan him out again we would have loaned him to Swindon, as he was in the squad yesterday I suspect he is now part of the backup for the first team. Saint Charlie Posted 18 August, 2014 Share Posted 18 August, 2014 I think he will push Hooiveld for the 4th CB spot.

Saint Charlie Posted 8 May, 2015 Share Posted 8 May, 2015 Brilliant loan spell for Stephens and Jordan Turnbull. Playing virtually every minute in a decent side that plays out from the back. Would be great if they can get to Wembley and then have a good go in pre season at staking a claim. Wonder if either will be in our first team squad next year? Stephen's versatility to play CB, RB and in midfield could be useful.

It's too early to say - I really think both of them are good players but in terms of whether or not they're in our squad next year: 1. Our own CB situation (Koeman's confidence in Gardos, whether or not Toby stays, if he doesn't if we replace him with a new signing or not) 2. Whether or not we qualify for Europe 3. Whether or not Swindon get promoted and if they do, if we think a season for them both in the Championship with Swindon is better for them than fighting for minutes with us. Depressed of Shirley Posted 8 May, 2015 Share Posted 8 May, 2015 I thought that last night Stephens in particular showed that he could do a central midfield or centre back job for us in the future. His positioning, calmness on the ball, and passing were generally v impressive, in what must have been his biggest ever game, and against hostile, up and at them opposition. Turnbull was less impressive, but I could see why we let them go to Swindon, a league one team that tries to play out from the back, irrespective of how foolhardy it seemed at times.
