SO16_Saint Posted 13 March, 2014 Posted 13 March, 2014 Can anyone recommend somewhere to get phone screens replaced? In the last week I have managed to drop my personal iPhone, work S3 and today the Mrs has dropped her S4. We shouldn't be allowed phones!
Wurzel Posted 13 March, 2014 Posted 13 March, 2014 Can't help with the screen but I can do you some non-slip gloves
hutch Posted 13 March, 2014 Posted 13 March, 2014 Also there are a few places advertising online where you could get your Mrs. replaced
RedWillie Posted 13 March, 2014 Posted 13 March, 2014 Done my nokia c7 twice myself. Followed YouTube video and it cost me £15 for the screen on eBay.
bristolsaint29 Posted 14 March, 2014 Posted 14 March, 2014 S3 and S4 can be particularly expensive, even if you do it yourself. Problem is the glass is attached to the digitizer unlike the older iphones or S2. Took mine to a local repair shop who claimed they can just replace glass and promptly found out he cant. Looking £100 plus if you cant just do glass.
SO16_Saint Posted 14 March, 2014 Author Posted 14 March, 2014 The videos on YouTube suggest you can just replace glass....but don't feel confident enough to do it myself
SNSUN Posted 14 March, 2014 Posted 14 March, 2014 I bought this for my S4, as I'm a huge phone dropper. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BJ0K8CK Its a big case, bulks the phone up, but it's so tough. I've dropped the phone twice since I got it and not even a scratch. Granted, it's a bit late for a phone with a broken screen, but if you value practicality over looks, it's well worth it, and not expensive.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 14 March, 2014 Posted 14 March, 2014 The videos on YouTube suggest you can just replace glass....but don't feel confident enough to do it myself I could do it for you if your in Southampton. S3 screen is £78-85 and S4 £110-120. Fit them for a tenner each..

Saint-scooby Posted 18 March, 2014 Posted 18 March, 2014 Thankfully I no longer do this type of work, Mobile phone solutions Totton or the Guys in Asda in town.
alpine_saint Posted 19 March, 2014 Posted 19 March, 2014 Just about to try the missus's Galaxy Ace 2. Seems straightforward enough from YouTube films.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 19 March, 2014 Posted 19 March, 2014 The telephone guy on Eastleigh Market told me £50.00. Drop it to him first thing and pick it up in the afternoon. He showed me one that he had replaced. It looked good.
Whitey Grandad Posted 19 March, 2014 Posted 19 March, 2014 I have used this chap: http://www.irepairuk.net He lives in Redbridge
