I heard from a decent source last night that following a survey of the building work carried out to date, on the Ageas Bowl Hilton, defective concrete was used, as the now bankrupt construction company, Denizen, struggled to control costs.

This means that is likely that the whole thing will have to be demolished. Apparently the debacle won't cost Eastleigh taxpayers a penny....

That’s bad news, GM – this damn hotel has been blighted from day one. Zero chance of it being completed for this summer’s test match, I suppose. Any implications for that match, or subsequent internationals?

Is that not a criminal act ?

This is starting to get ridiculous, what a shambles.

If the hotel end was done properly it would have given the ground a the look of a decent test venue, instead it will still look like a building site next summer.

the council should spend the money laying on decent public transport to get to the ground on a match day
