This. Oh and Trousers, I wait for the day that becomes your avatar!

FWIW, it's over. We lost to Sunderland with a stronger team than they had. It happens. Some people on here need to achieve that relaxed feeling you get seconds after blowing your load into a fitty. (Unless fitty is underage and instead of relaxation, panic ensues...)

I'm sure there are plenty on here who have travelled big distances and incurred big expenses to watch saints and get a disappointing result/performance at the end. That's the nature of football.

Added to the fact that many of those showing rage over the Sunderland result were not there, it makes your point even more stupid.

I like your logic.

100% of fans who went to sunderland were and are mightily fu cked off.

Everyone who didn't go has no right to complain or be happy that we are 9th / be over it.

Which I will read as the tiny ticket allocation relative to our fanbase are the only ones who have a right to an oppinion on this issue. Shall I not use your own stick to beat you with.

Serioulsy, this thread has reached 97 posts, covers and issue that ****ed off a lot of saints fans... who annoyance at the cup upset is now being used by other saints fans to beat those who are passionate and disappointed about the clubs attitude.

If you don't want to discuss the issue or have no grief about supporting a club that has no interest in winning anything of note then thats your look out, BUT DON'T CLICK THE ****ING LINK to abuse fellow fans.

For the rest of us (thats those who would like to think that all the money, time, tears and effort is actually worth something) its is frustrating to think that we should have beaten Sunderlands second string (would get relegated from the championship to be frank), and would then have faced a team we have routinely beaten and battered in hull just for a Wembley day out that we can either share with our old man or share with ours kids.

Instead the club effectively threw the towel in, then proceeded to give a limp **** in hand performance at west ham after 10days rest.

9th place aint worth it, wembley is.

Unless we are going to hark on about 9th place finishes instead of 2nd once 84 fades from memory......

Only *****s open threads on subjects that they are bored with.

Just my personal opinion

So, let me get this right. We are only supposed to open threads that we know in advance we are going to agree with or be interested in?

In a parallel universe we've qualified for semis on the basis that Rickie scored that open goal chance from 3 yards out. (Yes, I'm fully aware that hypotheticals are frowned upon on here.... Unless it's hypothesising about what would have happening if MP had played a 'full strength' starting 11 of course)

yes we could have won the cup, yes I would have played what is perceived my first fit 11. If we had taken our chances we would have had a replay. Would we have beaten Hull, probably over 2 games. Would we have had the same draw? Im not sure how they do the numbers and whether we would have had the same in the draw as Sunderland and Hull I dont know

No you've havent got it right, I didn't say anything thing of the sort. It was obvious even to a retard what this thread was about yet he came on to post how bored of the subjecy matter he was and how those that thought something different from him were ****wits. Would you sit through a TV programme you knew was going to be **** just to say how **** it was. This place is full of sad arses that want to be outraged by other people's opinions.

Personally think the club have thrown away the perfect chance to not only reach an fa cup semi, but also the final. Hull had a home draw against Sunderland but also a 3rd tier team at Wembley in the semi. Man. Ity are in the pro ess of losing at home to Wigan 2-0 at time of writing and are on the other side of the draw for the final anyway. Worst case outcome had we bothered to try vs Sunderlands second string was a final vs arsenal as the bare minimum.

Once again I am fuming..

If MoPo really wanted Europe it was there on a plate, with a proper cup final and a chance to avenge 2003.

He's either lying or awful at squad rotation.. not that a 10day rest did our players any good agaist west ham.... Or Liverpool.

Ah well, at least we can enjoy 8th/9th hey guys!

Definitely the final. The Sunderland game is now in my memories for all the wrong reasons. That's the beauty of the cup I suppose!

Firstly, it is not me that used the term ****wits. I asked a polite question.

You said:

I am questioning whether this is true. Sometimes I like to read things with a sense of astonishment rather than a sagely nod.

If that makes me a ***** then so be it. It's better than being a ******* ****end.

I'm also not very sure about this idea of not having enough players to put in a shift at both competitions.

Any stats wizard in this forum can tell us how many players we had in 02/03 that had more than 10 PL appearances compared to this season.

We were known to have large squads in those days (see Kevin Davies missing out on the squad list for the Final), but I can't help to think that the numbers shouldn't be very far off. Maybe I'm completely wrong.

Anyone?
