Shame if some of you Sky generation, FIFA manager internet types find that f^cking boring or tedious. But of course in the event of Saints reaching a semi-final or the final itself I suspect the clamour for tickets will be overwhelming, swamped by the same 'sky generation/internet types' referred to above coming out of the woodwork. Fitzhugh Fella Posted 9 March, 2014 Share Posted 9 March, 2014 (edited) Are you seriously still bothered about a match that happened a month ago ? Jesus there is some tedious fools on here I guess if you compared the bloke who had driven through the night to make the lunch time ko, spent 100 quid on petrol and a ticket and then had to flog his way home again might, just might have been a teeny bit more peeved than the armchair fan whose only exercise and expense while he watched the game on the box was to open his fridge? I stand by the liklihood that those who couldn't really be "arsed" about the result are the ones that don't bother much going to games. One of the first match day threads I check out is "just back from the game" because generally speaking by the fact these fans have actually made a big effort to actually go then their views are more valid. And if you find the whole thing tedious why do you bother adding to the tedium? Edited 9 March, 2014 by Fitzhugh Fella

Of course I want to see us win stuff, but it's not the be all and end all of supporting Saints. We had a decent run and could've gone further, but going out is not this big thing that people are making it out to be. Arsenal haven't won anything in nearly a decade, d'you think they might have a little bit more cause to be annoyed than us? Also one thing that really seems to be annoying people is that Sunderland and Hull have had pretty easy draws since we got knocked out, even though if we had gone through it would have been a completely different draw in a different version of reality, and chances are we would've drawn different teams than them. Proper physics and sh!t yo.

I'm sure there are plenty on here who have travelled big distances and incurred big expenses to watch saints and get a disappointing result/performance at the end. That's the nature of football. Added to the fact that many of those showing rage over the Sunderland result were not there, it makes your point even more stupid.

I've done all of the above plus some in my time supporting Saints so your argument is rubbish - and somewhat embarrasses you. Dig Dig Posted 9 March, 2014 Share Posted 9 March, 2014 We had no chance with MP here. I like him, but if he stays and keeps this attitude, the cups are out. We scraped by Burnley and Yeovil with weakened teams. It was our best chance in many years, but if MP leaves we might have a better go at it. Smaller clubs are showing what can be done. Why do you think league league prioritisation is a 100% MP decision? If we can work with a more substantial squad and not be goaled solely on the league, I'm sure he'd like to do well in a cup. Why wouldn't he?

And if you find the whole thing tedious why do you bother adding to the tedium? Fair play to you for making the effort, I mean that genuinely. I get up there when I can, but after coming back from a couple of nasty injuries Im back playing a decent Saturday standard again so unfortunately cant see my beloved saints as much as Id like and meant I had to cancel my ST. Does that make me less of a fan ?! Doubtful On the day I was gutted, the team wasnt the strongest, but surely strong enough, the performance was woeful. But you know what ? Thats football. Its gone, we move on. How many times have we been in this position ? Im afraid tedium is banging the same old drum to the same tune ad infinitum and unfortunately your tune is one of a depressive monotony. So if constantly drawing the negative of what is right now a great time to be a Saint then I think Ill stick to being the fan I am you pretentious idiot. I was discussing this with someone at Crystal Palace yesterday. A lot of these people love to support Saints online but when it comes to putting their hand in their pocket and travelling a few miles and actually attending they aren't interested. Out of the people who 'aren't fussed' it would be interesting to see how many of them actually went up to Sunderland.
