Dr Who? Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 Now the way I see it, is that 3 home games hold the key to the top 6. If we can beat Newcastle, Everton and Man Utd at home, we still have a chance to finish in the top 6, but I see these 3 as must win! Of course we will have to beat others as well, but lose to 1 or more of these 3 it is over for IMHO.
DuncanRG Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 It is indeed likely to be over if we lose any of those games. We probably will, but you couldn't fault the team for that. They're tough fixtures
doddisalegend Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 I think a lack of squad depth and MPs high tempo style has pretty much knackered our boys I'm expecting a damp squib ending to the season tbh more draws and loses than wins.
Lighthouse Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 It's possible but I don't think we're quite good enough. We still don't really look like scoring, JRod's goal coming from some pretty poor Palace defending today. Worth a go though.
Mowgli Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 Wtf. Great season. Great football. Thoroughly entertained start to finish. #proud
nta786 Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 We definitely won't finish top 6... 7th isn't out of reach but we'll need to finish the seasom very strongly and hope results go our way. 8th is definitely reachable however.
The Kraken Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 Wtf. Great season. Great football. Thoroughly entertained start to finish. #proud Of course it is all of those things.
skintsaint Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 Finish the season how we started then who knows.
Dr Who? Posted 8 March, 2014 Author Posted 8 March, 2014 No matter how unlikely it is, looking at the fixtures and the table why not.......
rick1976.4.38 Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 saints looked a tired team now with the season nearly over,8th/9th is a great achievement

Can I ask why 7th is not out of reach but not top 6, when 7th and 6th place have the same points?
nta786 Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 Can I ask why 7th is not out of reach but not top 6, when 7th and 6th place have the same points? Yeah, can't see Everton/Man U dropping too many points... When I say 'isn't out of reach', I'm trying to say really unlikely, and then I explained that we'll have to win a load of games and hope results go our way. I think that the team who does finish 6th, will have considerably more points than the team in 7th. Just my opinion though, I could be completely wrong... This season is really unpredictable.
Dr Who? Posted 8 March, 2014 Author Posted 8 March, 2014 saints looked a tired team now with the season nearly over,8th/9th is a great achievement Everton looked tired today. My worry is the form of Newcastle and Man U seem to be finishing strong. Until there is not enough points left, I will keep a positive mind. The season is still alive.

Can see Man U getting it together and maybe running off with 6th of even getting 5th off spurs. But as it stands this evening we have a chance, but will also depend on the Everton games in hand.
Charlie Wayman Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 I think a lack of squad depth and MPs high tempo style has pretty much knackered our boys I'm expecting a damp squib ending to the season tbh more draws and loses than wins. I think that's right and we'll settle for ninth
The Kraken Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 I think that's right and we'll settle for ninth Arsenal won't finish 9th. Fact.
norwaysaint Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 Can I ask why 7th is not out of reach but not top 6, when 7th and 6th place have the same points? Because you couldn't reasonably hope for noe top club to have a disastrous string of results, but hopping for WTO is pushing it? 8th is what we should be hopping for.
norwaysaint Posted 8 March, 2014 Posted 8 March, 2014 I don't know what happened to that post. One, two and hoping, obviously. norwegian auto correct

But as it stands this evening we have a chance, but will also depend on the Everton games in hand. There's a potentially season-defining game for Man U and Liverpool in a week's time. If Liverpool win, I think that'll see United plummet down the table.
GAS Posted 9 March, 2014 Posted 9 March, 2014 No matter how unlikely it is, looking at the fixtures and the table why not.......Exactly, why not. Are they much better than us? no. So why not?
