igsey Posted 5 March, 2014 Posted 5 March, 2014 ...if only goals by English players counted. Liverpool top, Newcastle bottom, presumably with a load of 0-0 draws . Our top 3 goal scorers? Rodriguez, Lambert and Lallana, all rightfully in the England team, I think.
Turkish Posted 5 March, 2014 Posted 5 March, 2014 So second bottom of the league if only foreign players had scored. Worrying stats those.
badgerx16 Posted 5 March, 2014 Posted 5 March, 2014 (edited) So second bottom of the league if only foreign players had scored. Worrying stats those. Why, with a team where the primary goal threat, and at least half of the outfield team, is English. How many other PL teams have English players as their principle 3 attackers ? Turkish Posted 5 March, 2014 Posted 5 March, 2014 Why, with a team where the primary goal threat, and at least half of the outfield team, is English. How would the league look if only goals scored by players with letter S in their name, born in March and scored between the 31st and 74th minutes counted?
Hatch Posted 5 March, 2014 Posted 5 March, 2014 How would the league look if only goals scored by players with letter S in their name, born in March and scored between the 31st and 74th minutes counted? MLG will answer that in about 3 minutes

If you look at what many might presume to be our first eleven, how many goals would you expect from Boruc, Lovren, Fonte, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, and Davis ? If Osvaldo had delivered on his supposed potential he'd be in our top 2 scorers.

If you look at Chelseas attacking players and what you might presume to be there first XI of Torres, Hazard, Oscar, Eto, Ramires etc how many English players are there in there? How many goals do you expect Terry and Cole to get? Point being, that table is totally pointless and irrelevant.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 5 March, 2014 Posted 5 March, 2014 So second bottom of the league if only foreign players had scored. Worrying stats those. Whilst I agree that it is pretty pointless, I don't think that is quite how it works.
Charlie Wayman Posted 5 March, 2014 Posted 5 March, 2014 Desperate days indeed. Where would we be in the league if only matches refereed by a a chap called Webb counted? Not only pointless but mindless as well.
