Who could/will replace mp next season?

First things first I do think he's a pretty good manager but it looks inevitable that he will be gone at the end of the season. Who could drive the system we have in place forward? Are we best sticking with a continental manager as the hard pressing game has been instilled in the players?

Why is it inevitable? I've seen lots of comments to that effect, but they all seem to be based on nothing in particular. I think he'll be with us next season. His stock is on the rise, but it would wane if he left us after a year, without making any real achievement.

Not so sure it's inevitable. The only place that seems to be the case is on here where an internet frenzy has been created that his body language doesn't look right and he doesn't shout enough.

Where could he go that's better than here? Real Madrid and Inter linked in the press but why would they want him? Midtable finishes for two middle sized clubs in England and Spain says he hasn't done enough to warrant a move to champions league club in any of the major leagues and the pressure of champions league football has been lifted now Nick Nack has gone. In many ways he is perhaps in a better position now than he was before Cortese left.

Anyone who plays Football Manager. Not only do they know everything, such selection criteria puts me in the running.

On that note, does anyone know how to Alt-F4 a real life game so you can reload?

Someone who has been managing a League 1 and League 2 club with no premier experience. Hang on, the Daleks have got their time mechanism wrong, it's 2014, not 2004.

If we are only allowed to go for managers with PL experience we are not going to have to many options to choose from, Which managers with PL experience are available at the moment?. MPs PL experience has been invaluable so far.................

Andre Villas-Boas

Murat Yakin

Roberto Di Matteo

Paul Clement

Neil Lennon

Steve Clarke

Nigel Adkins

Jurgen Klinsmann

Karl Robinson

Uwe Rosler

Nigel Pearson

Michael Laudrup

Cadajfu imho

Or how about Javier Aguirre? He took over from the great mopo when Espanyol were rock bottom of la liga. He turned them around, kept them up and now has them sitting nicely in mid table.

Espanyol are playing some great football with a very very average squad

Have to agree with this, where better can he apply his footballing philosophy than at a club with an abundance of young talent. That talent has been there for many yrs and was not the product of Cortese.

what is up with you guys,

First you thing SRL should be dropped

then it is questioning MP's credentials

Then it is about who will replace him

Theres are so many threads asking the same questions

Are you skates trying to wind up us dedicated saints fans or just saints fans that want to pish off us dedicated saints fans

Personally I think you are all out of order constantly spouting endless negativity re saints.

Charlie wayman I like your humour!

George Graham.

1-0 to the South-Hampton

etc etc so on and so forth.

Howard wilkinson. Good old fashioned English manager to get us back to Playing a proper formation. Might even finally get my dream of seeing player as good as Luke Cattermole in a saints shirt. Failing that Big Ron Atkinson.

I admire Wilkinson's reported single- mindedness. Rumour has it that Wilko only has an iPod Shuffle, with one song on it, Tina Turner's Simply the best, which he plays all the time on repeat.

No-one will go on long car trips with him.

Whomever it is will need a great record at working with young players (both development and integration into the first team) and have enough of a presence to inspire the current crop whose form is very dependent on momentum.

Preference is for Pochettino to stay and maybe have a bit more of a say in transfers to see what his system can really do if we were behind it.

Interesting you mention him . I read once that he was very much on our shortlist to interview at one stage, in the early days of his career. I can't remember if it was after Lawrie left us in 1986 (think it was), or after Chris Nicholl.

Saints asked Millwall if we could speak with him, they said no, and that was the end of it. No tabloid invitations to talk in those days, accepted it with good grace and moved on.

He was also linked with the job around the time we moved to st Mary's, during the summer when Gray was eventually appointed IIRC. Not sure how serious it was.

I think he was a spent force by that stage though.

Joe Royle is the top, top manager we need. A truly stellar record.

yeah that'd do it to be fair.

if it did happen I'd just like to minimise change. no-one wanting a staff clear out. if possible we keep the assistant manager too. said before, wouldn't be against giving him the job and just continuing along the same path.

Gray, Wigley spring to mind.

Only if he´s a winger. Where does he play, haven´t heard much about him tbh...?

Speculation that MP might not be our manager next season is based on rather more than mere fans perceptions of his body language.

It is a matter of fact afterall that he was Cortese's appointment and very much Cortese's man. It is also undeniably true that he has notably declined to commit himself to this club beyond the end of his current contract, or even imply that he'd be happy to stay longer. The nature of his relationships with KL and our next CEO (whoever that is) and whether he would really be prepared to operate within what may well be a much reduced budget next season are also matters very much open to reasonable question.

Having said in the absence of much clear evidence his potential departure remains very much within the realm of speculation at this time. Speculation then, but not quite groundless speculation methinks.

Cortese did appoint him, but he's not presently involved in football. To be honest, I'm not sure if he ever will be again. If Cortese left over budget cuts it's possible that MP will walk. I'm not sure that's the case though. It depends on what you believe. Personally, I think Cortese threw his toys out of the pram when Liebherr insisted on a better corporate structure.

Where else will Cortese have the freedom to do as he wants with someone else's money. Nowhere in my opinion. He could be a long time out of the game. Can't see MP going out on a limb waiting for his next project.

I really hope MP stays. Would love the club to give him a longer deal.

Any evidence mopo does have his heart in it?

No transfers in Jan, the FA cup, Nicola leaving, spurs link, osvaldo, mopos body language, fans backlash to FA cup, still not learnt English, no new contract offer or talks, doesnt commit beyond the end of season in any interviews + our recent form and reported fall out with players after the Sunderland defeat...... Its defo leaning towards "he's off"

Oh dont forget Real Madrid, PSG, Benfica or this > http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/europ...e-addio-516820
