Pancake Posted 16 December, 2008 Posted 16 December, 2008 OK, got a strange question. Ive got a wireless network running, and I need (wont go into details why) to have a remote ethernet/LAN hub for 2 desktops that wireless links into the existing wireless network. Anyone got any ideas?

Mewsta Posted 16 December, 2008 Posted 16 December, 2008 Can't you just get wireless cards for the 2 PC's!??
exit2 Posted 16 December, 2008 Posted 16 December, 2008 Can't you just get wireless cards for the 2 PC's!?? Thats makes sense, the only other way is to put in a wireless bridge with wired capability but this is much more exspenive than 2 x £11 usb wireless nics
Pancake Posted 17 December, 2008 Author Posted 17 December, 2008 Can't you just get wireless cards for the 2 PC's!?? No, otherwise I would have done that and not asked about this kind of solution, doncha think?
Pancake Posted 17 December, 2008 Author Posted 17 December, 2008 What make/model is your existing wireless router? D-Link DSL-G624T
Mewsta Posted 17 December, 2008 Posted 17 December, 2008 No, otherwise I would have done that and not asked about this kind of solution, doncha think? no not really... it seems like the most straight forward reason and you didn't say anything in the inital post to suggest that you were unable to do this!
Pancake Posted 17 December, 2008 Author Posted 17 December, 2008 Not necessarily, you didn't explain why you wanted to go this route as opposed to wireless nics?! what's the reason for a Hub over wireless usb/pci?! As I stated in the top post, Im not doing into details why I need this set-up, just wanted views on if it was viable and how it could be done.
Mewsta Posted 17 December, 2008 Posted 17 December, 2008 ok so i gave you one... no need for the comment... i thought you may have just over looked the fact!
