Turkish Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 There have been some epic rivalries over the years on here, MLG v myself was up there with Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank until MLG decided to bottle it and put me on ignore after a relentless, merciless pounding. Current rivalries that stand out at CB fry v Wes Ender & Franks Cousin smirking saint v Saint Steve Pap v quite a few
Spudders Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 If anyone wants a rival, Tokyo is still looking for one!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 I look at this board like a family, sometimes you will fall out with your brother or sister but you ALWAYS make up as youre family and deep down we love each other.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 If anyone wants a rival, Tokyo is still looking for one! I've got leadic spudders but he is so part time bletch and bear have to fill in for him. He literally just snips and runs these days.
saintbletch Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 I guess defeat, proud defeat that it was Turkish, has granted you some perspective to look back at what was your Mongboard career and who were your rivals. If I might be so bold as to offer an ex-champion some retrospective advice, you were looking for your rivals in the wrong place. You had trained for orthodox fighters, but it was an unknown southpaw that took you out. I'm sure you still struggle to come to terms with what happened even now, and the image below must bring back some bad memories: But I urge you to not dwell on The loss, instead you should think of those 14 years of unbroken Mongboad rule and feel proud that you sewed sarcasm across these barren fields and brought fuktard-fertility to our soil. Who, if not you, would pick on the weak, the young, the different? And who, if not you, would tell us what we can wear; what, when and how much we should eat; what we can sing and how we should celebrate a goal? Like Fred West or Jimmy Saville, people will remember you long after most of us have logged off and gone to bed. You might not have been the people's champion, but to many of us there has never been such a Mong.
Smirking_Saint Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 My original rivalry was with WillFoxGolf, it all escalated one crazy night in 2010, mr Fox hasnt been seen again since so take that as a warning to all you wannabe's Special mention to MattLeTiss (the poster not the man) he tries hard despite his limited resources. Love you glasgow
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 Just had to take a break from mboard rivalry for a real one with some golfers on Wimbledon common. I am pretty sure it was leadic there as well as he mouthed off, then when I confronted him and asked what he was going on about, he disappeared off behind his dad*. *he was well over 18 smart arse.
whelk Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 It is funny how petty things can get - I used to dislike CB FRY after some exchange (I think about tat emotive subject- Lawro) but now he is one of my faves. We have been united by our stance on the cups. This may be unrequited of course but his posts make me chuckle now.

Well if the Dad was over 18, how old was the son you manfully confronted? I'm guess, what 4, 5 max? BTW, what were you doing on the cottage, sorry common (Freudian) to get into a confrontation with a bunch of Dubai_Philistiners?

Absolutely destroys Wes Ender week in week out, which is fine because he's a proper moaning bulb. Shurlock tries desperately hard to be my rival but there in is his problem, he's too desperate. Making things up, even following me to other forums and posting stuff months ago from there on here, completely out of context in an attempt to score points. No respect or credibility for that. He's more like a yappy little dog round your ankles that's a pest than a rival.
Turkish Posted 1 March, 2014 Author Posted 1 March, 2014 Rivals? F**k you Turks; I'm peerless We had a rivalry going for a short time until that infamous thread where you accused me of having a racist user name on TUI, not realising it was actually my real life surname. That was comedy gold.

That was comedy gold. Yes, and the resulting detente is the normal outcome of such rivalries. Barney, bit of humility, and a mutual recognition of what the other poster is. I've had beefs with a lot of people on this forum; they generally settle into the same pattern, which is nice. Just waiting for Nolan to get his PS4 now.

Not from everyone - 90% of this forum are utter helmets - but from some. There is a pitchfork mob of the great and the good gathering against me on another thread at the moment. I think they might finally defeat me, hastening my retirement from the forum. If Ottery turns up with his usual barrage of smilies, I think that might be the end.

pap Posted 1 March, 2014 Posted 1 March, 2014 Does anybody want to be my friend? Worry not, Super Michael. I'm planning on using the Glasto trip to form a hardcore of you, Dubai Phil, KRG and myself. We will spend hours PMing each other and tittering at other posters like other established forum cliques surely do.

Just the usual Saturday morning battle between dog walkers who use the common everyday and weekend gofers who forget they are playing golf on a common and think they own the place.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 4 March, 2014 Posted 4 March, 2014 I have no rivals and why would I want one? Im the same - I get on with everyone on here
Barry Sanchez Posted 4 March, 2014 Posted 4 March, 2014 Peas from a pod thats me and you Glasgow, I would much rather be having a pint with you tonight than Pap but what can you do mate, care in the community knows no bounds for me, always be one to give.
buctootim Posted 4 March, 2014 Posted 4 March, 2014 always be one to give. Watch out for this Pap. Barry's only giving him 30 seconds but in my experience its doable
Halo Stickman Posted 4 March, 2014 Posted 4 March, 2014 care in the community knows no bounds for me Didn't Dr. Harold Shipman say something similar?
