2014/15 Kit Revealed - #TheStripesAreBack

it just might be a smokescreen by Krueger to ensure there is that little bit of surprise when stripes are revealed. The club know this is what the fans want and at this rate good news might be in short supply in the summer so this could divert fans attention.

You honestly think that?

That's awesome. I have not been alone in desperately wanting a rank xerox style (this style) kit for a long time & it won't fly off the rails if they sanctioned this kit. Love it! I'd even buy my son a new kit.

But completely wrong: Adidas and aap3

It is done. All finished. The sponsor has seen it and is happy with it.

steve_veho: @50miles2saints @andrew_saintsfc @AdeMcKenzie only about 6 people on the planet have seen it #patience

Patience from here on in it seems...

Business has picked up - itchen_dan is on the case :)

Summer begins!

If it's own-brand next year and Adidas have said they might be working with us again from 15/16, I assume the Adidas contract was cancelled but there wasn't time to negotiate a new/good enough deal with anyone for next season. After that Adidas would be competing with everyone else.

Wonder what on earth Cortese did to alienate Adidas ?

If Cortese was still here Adidas would never have left.

Nope, he cancelled the deal due to their screw up getting the kit for the start of the season.

Well that's a pretty polarised view of it.

Perhaps we need a poll.

Lol you lot are gold. I told you this over 4 months ago and you chose not to listen.

Theoretically how and where would you get an own-brand kit made? Would you approach a tiny manufacturer like Sondico/Avec/Samurai Sports/Kukri to make the kits unbranded or would you go direct to the factories in the Middle East and Asia and just ask for a large quantity of poor quality nylon football shirts in a certain pre-approved template…?

Credit where it's due mlt, thanks for posting. However Tbf to the Mong board audience, you can't believe everything you read on an Internet forum.

Thanks for correcting me, but my post was a reference to the belief of many on here that if Cortese was still here no one or no thing would ever leave and everything would be lovely forever.

He'd have fought like a bastard to keep Adidas, like a bastard I tell you.

Just a thought, would an "own brand" kit retail for less in the club shop / online? Wouldn't be paying a huge markup fee for the privilege of having the Adidas logo on it?

I imagine they'd rather give us a large discount for the privilege of having their logo viewed by a billion people on live TV.

You'd think!

Partnership termination has just been announced on Twitter. Statement says that decision was made in December so Cortese fallout could have been likely reason for the termination. No details of new kit announced, other than that information will be released in the coming months (Although I'm sure we all assumed as much, anyway!)

How the heck did The Don fall out with a kit makers mid-way through a season?

That's what I was thinkng, couldn't have been price because we already had the contract signed and that. Ermmmm maybe they were saying no to printing his face on the front of the shirt?

I would guess that they were looking at our new kits for this coming season, and it was probably another generic piece or cr4p, NC probably said, if you're not going to put any effort in, then we'll go somewhere else. And then things happen and NC left. Then the new board came in, and thought '"sh1t, we have no kit for next year" tried to sort it out with Adidas, and they weren't interested/weren't able to produce this years kit in time.

I would expect if Cortese was still here we'd have just got a different supplier of kit for this year and it would have been sorted out by now.

If the Club was working hard to repair the relationship who f***ed it up to start with?

NC??

Is that part of the reason why he left?

I have no idea I am just asking.

Certainly spun that way to suggest NC f***ed it up. Maybe he was (rightly) ****ed off with the Bristol City template served up to us and had a hissy-fit? Who knows?

The fact that an announcement will be made over next couple of months suggests that we aren't close to finding a new supplier either, esp. if talks with Adidas in Feb-March were too late in the day.

Maybe just sack a shirt off next season and wear red bibs with 'Veho' on them. Better than whinging about having our stripes back all summer long.

There were reports on Twitter that the Veho CEO had seen the new kit, so it's probably been put together, just now needs to be produced by whatever arrangement agreed.

The club would have signed off on the design, I find it difficult to believe that Adidas provided us with a kit design that we didn't approve.

Sour Mash is right above that Adidas ****ed up with their supply chain, though, stock levels were well below what was deemed acceptable for months.
