BT Commentators logic.

Sunderland make loads of changes - their players have a point to prove, fighting for cup final spots etc.

Saints make loads of changes - can't understand it, mistake, why have they done it etc.

Really frustrated with JWP today, he's got ability in there, but he has been awful today. Truly rubbish.

Why are we not changing anything yet? It's baffling me. It's just like we're shrugging and passing up a chance to Wembley, we honestly don't seem to give a ****.

He's gone backwards this year, I'm not sure he will make it if I'm honest, he's not strong enough and doesn't get nearly involved enough, not just here he was dreadful away at Chelsea and Newcastle as well

So, one minute the commentators are having a pop at Pochettino for making 6 changes and the next they're praising Poyet for giving 9 fringe players some much needed game time. The 'cake and eat it' world of the TV pundit...

Looks to me as though Lambert, Lallana and Shaw are not wanting to get injured

Lallana and Shaw seem to be putting a shift in Rickie's been dreadful and very slow

To all who are whinging about the team selection, theres this thing called periodization. When you push your body to max, it needs time to recover. When you dont give it enough time to recover you can get 'overtrained', and as our high pressing game means the players have to be incredibly fit, its likely some players will be nearing that. When overtrained, you become more injury prone, have low energy levels and feel weak. So making all these changes is necessary for the players fitness levels.

What a complete pile of sh*te. We're treating the cup with disdain. So are Sunderland. Nothing more, nothing less.

So what you're saying is... We are not capable of playing two games a week?

We just look so off the pace, so slow, missing all the 50 50's, like we've been drugged on something. It's weird. But not a surprise. Start as we did and this will be the outcome.
