I didn't miss many away games 92-95 and I am telling you thats ****, sorry absolute ****. On occasion yes but not always, for London games? Where you there at Arsenal away when Wright got his hattrick? Palace away? Villa? Liverpool? cod****.

I missed few games in that period mentioned away from home.

I used to go all the time then and maybe on the odd occasion but we took as many as we do now, the difference is there are far more Tarquin student types and mothers who are bored going.

  Barry Sanchez said:
No as I said Turkish I only missed a few in a 3 year period, its very simple to understand, more go now and where did I disagree with your statement? I also said its due to Tarquins and mothers, you made a bul**** statement of we only took 500 odd away in the 90's, a crock of ****e I may add.

Contradictions all over the place petal.

So everyone else is wrong and you're right, yes?

In short yes Turkish, they either never went to many games between 92-95 away or they are selecting midweek games up North when the attendance is low love. To make it simple we took quite a few to an awful lot of games. Did you go then or are you simply making it up with Francis to assure yourself its all better now travelling away?

To answer your question Baz; I was going to away games before your 1992 glory days.

Yep, my first away game was v spurs in 1990, we lost 1-2 it was the last game of the season and quite a few in the away end had beach balls which were thrown into the air. I think Andy Cook scored our goal. Since then I've been a regular away fan, think I've done 52 of the 92 grounds over the last 24 years. But you still keep banging on about your 3 year period between 92-95 where you went to almost every game but missed some too.

So everyone else is wrong and you are right, everyone else is selecting random games, yet your fab 5 including two London clubs prove there 500 was about our usual away attendance up north. You can't make this sort of sh*t up keep it coming.

No sweetheart there is no contradiction merely desperation from your post, I missed a few away games over a 3 year period.

Oh but here is.

You agree more go now in one post, after saying its roughly the same in another. You say you went to most in 92-95 the a ya you missed quite a few, contradiction after contradiction.

What about outside of your three year period? Let's talk about that, or maybe you could Tell us about Sheffield United away in March 94, how many did we have up there that day? Or was that one you missed?

Maybe you were drunk and had double vision? Funny that you're the only one that remembers this. Seems like you're the one talking s**te

You're also complete twisting the argument too, it's gone from your fab 4 games where we took loads to now me saying we only took a 1000 a few times.

As i said originally, in the main away attendances up north were c500 with often 1000 or so to London and midlands games. Of course there were times when we took more but in the main that was about it during the 90s as others have confirmed.

To finish I was so ****ed in the 90's I can hardly recall where I was let alone what game I went to.

So I was right it was double vision, my young munchkin.

Not my argument, but I think he said he missed few games, not missed quite a few games.

Turkish I went to an awful lot of away game between the years of 1990 to 1999, in this period I was ****ed as it was the years of my youth, I did not have a serious girlfriend until 1995 and a job that meant I could attend an awful lot of games, nothing new or original there to be had, simply living my youth.

Our away support has been brilliant this season. Non stop singing even when we are losing and always loud, with some mad goal celebrations thrown in (WBA, Anfield, & man u)

It's not just the players that have upped their game.

You obviously didn't go to Fulham then. Support was non existent until the goals started going in.

Thank you Chez but I think I have this, this lad probably went to a few and now goes more frequently and thinks its better, that his opinion but for him to say we only took 500 odd away at games in those times is absolute horse****.

Ha ha, are you actually denying this still?!?! Incredible. There was a reason the "257 to Bolton" myth permeated out of Portsmyth, we had a poor away following for games for many years at the smaller clubs north of Birmingham. Trying to deny that fact is a bit weird.

I am not denying anything I am saying when was this game? Midweek? Liverpool took 200 to West Ham in a midweek in the 80's in their heydey or so the myth goes, I am saying lots of Southampton fans travelled to away games in the 90's.

No Barry, you're saying that Saints never took around 500 to some away games. Utter nonsense to suggest we didn't do that.

Where have I suggested that? I have not suggested anything, I am saying we took numbers to many games well over 500 on a frequent basis to away games in the 90's, its pretty clear cut what I am writing.

Sorry Turkish said our away attendance was about only 500 in the 90's, where have I changed anything?

I went to Weymouth away in the early 80's in a friendly and we had more than 500. It was many moons ago so my memory is bad but was there a serious injury to a saints player in that game? And yes before you jump on me I've not been to many away games.

Did he? I'm just answering your statement where you refuted that we took 500 to away games. We did. We took more than that to plenty of games. We took around that, and less to some games. I know, because I was there. I'm not sure what your problem with admitting that is. We really had pitiful numbers for some away games in the past.

I never said we didn't look right back up through my posts, where have I refuted that or argued that? What I have said because I was there is that in many games we took many more in an awful lot of games, our pitiful away attendance if you can find them will be in the main midweek games, please scroll on through and see what has been written.

Have it your way Baz. If you need the happy clappy bulsh*t you so often decry then, here we go. "Saints have got amazing away support and always have had". You carry on believing it, son. We got good numbers away at a lot of games. We got terrible numbers at too many games as well, midweek and weekend, it was a fairly regular occurrence. If you could show where you admitted we got 500 or less at game though, that would be great. Ta.

Well the whole of the South West Trains network being closed this morning has definitely not got things off to a good start! Tough away day to get to at this time of year.

Correct. Only soppy mugs take their whinging banshee of bird out for an over priced meal. Turks does things the Turkish way and doesn't bow to pressure from media, advertising agencies and least of all insecure women who think if their chap takes them out that night it's because they want to not because they feel like they have to.

They're just about to talk FA Cup on Talksh*te and mentioned the trek facing Saints fans tomorrow.

After Saturday, in the few weeks since the start of December Southampton fans will have travelled around 4,000 miles. This will have included 5 trips to the North East - Newcastle, Hull and 3 trips to Sunderland.

They’ve had to suffer early winter morning starts for ridiculous lunchtime kick-offs at Everton and Sunderland twice.

There were over a thousand Saints fans at Hull on Tuesday night just days before facing another 650 mile round-trip back up to the North East, most with a 4am start.

Then there was the farcical situation of Sunderland away in the League Cup, two weeks after the draw the date was set for the match. Fans had booked trains, hotels, etc. there were tales of dads promising the nipper a trip as it was half term and last minute they announce the date has been changed.

They’re taking the p*ss*.

Rant over.

*I wonder how much influence the ex-skate has at BT Sport?

And after all that, we get...yesterday.
