Lallana's Left Peg Posted 13 February, 2014 Posted 13 February, 2014 I wouldn't be surprised to learn that more than a few players are carrying knocks / banged up. They may well declare themselves fit but I am not sure if they could perform to usual levels. Still, unless this game goes to a replay we're only playing on weekends from now on so lets negotiate this game with a positive result and then we should be ok.

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 13 February, 2014 Posted 13 February, 2014 For what? Haha - it's an American term for when players are feeling a bit hurt without a specific injury. I fully appreciate means something else in England

Badger Posted 13 February, 2014 Posted 13 February, 2014 We've got the sheriff [and Jesus is his deputy] Good one. Shame its a bit of a slow crap tune to get going though.
Lighthouse Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 We borrowed a plane from Estonian airways for January's trip up to the SOL. Seems a bit random, wonder if we'll do it again.
bender Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 I've been on a few Sunderland forums. Most of them dont even have a thread on this game. I found just one thread below and most of their fans wont be over bothered if they lose this one. Poyet is giving some fringe players a go too. http://www.sunderlandmad.com/t7272-sunderland-v-southampton-fa-cup Rip into them from the start and this could easily be over by half time.
patred44 Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 sorry.... here is the link http://eplindex.com/49630/southampton-sunderland-fa-cup-preview-team-news-facts-key-men.html?

saintoaks Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 Jose Fonte..out for forseeeable future ?? Could well be out, no pics of him in the gallery, maybe Lovren (maybe to early) or Jos to partner yoshida. Any pace against Jos and we could be in for a long afternoon. Anyway COYS..
Roger Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 The players who started tues were rested from training yesterday. People do panic.

austsaint Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 We've been crying out for a haircut like that in our team for ages. First amputee to play for Saints too.

Badger Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 First amputee to play for Saints too. Good spot.
Saint_Tony Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 Any news on Fonte yet? And also, any chance of the game being called off?
Whitey Grandad Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 First amputee to play for Saints too. We've had plenty of one-footed players.
ladysaint Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 And also, any chance of the game being called off? I hope if there is any danger of the game being called off they let us know in good time i.e. tonight as leaving really early in the morning. Remember getting to Newcastle once and they called the game was called off about an hour before KO.

oldsarum Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 Well I'm leaving after work tonight so I'll be ****ed if they cancel it tomorrow ! Me too Four of us up to Durham tongiht Another mate in Chester Le Street and another two in Newcastle all travelling up today
TUS Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 I live up this way (Newcastle) and based on todays weather, I can't see why it would be called off. In fact, I don't think we've had any weather this winter which has been bad enough to postpone a Premier match. I'll eat my pants if it's called off.
Saint Charlie Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 Sunderland will do everything to get it played anyway as they already have some additional games due to this week's call of vs City and the Cup Final in a couple of weekends.

Remember getting to Newcastle once and they called the game was called off about an hour before KO. That was a shocker, should have been called off hours before but they left it as late as possible as it was on Sky. I remember hearing there was already around 800 Saints fans arriving in Newcastle as it was pulled. Me too Four of us up to Durham tongiht Another mate in Chester Le Street and another two in Newcastle all travelling up today I'm sure I read something about possible disruption on the Metro over the weekend, maybe TUS can advise fans staying over in Newcastle? Weather looks better up there tomorrow so shouldn't be an issue. I've been in Sunderland with the raining going sideways all day long and standing on that old open terrace. With it being on TV again it would take some extreme conditions to see it off.

xxiv Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 For anyone that is going to the match you will have a bit of a mare as there is major work going on with the metro. The work is on the south hylton line which includes the stadium station and st Peter's. There is a bus replacement service that is normally quite good. But all this will add to the nightmare of a early kick off and trying to get there on time.

Ohio Saint Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 I'm so up for this it's ridiculous! It's really gonna be a tough one for us, but I will be devastated if our cup ends here. It's been a great season already as far as I'm concerned, but I'd truly love to see it become fantasticker.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 If anyone thinks we've got an easy run to the final they're mad. This game could be lost quite easily given it's away and the weather could be awful, plus Sunderland are no push-over. At least the thug Brown is not playing. If we win it'll be something like 2-3. Even if we get through this round, there's every chance we'll get drawn against one of the top four - not that we can't beat those teams, but it will be very tough.

Dr Who? Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 First amputee to play for Saints too. Left hand or bottom half of leg? Or both?
Dr Who? Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 Anyway, I am very nervous about this game, probably the most nervous since before the Posh, Boro and Coventry games in our promotion season. This is what it is all about for me. The old 1-3 for me.... Please. One of my best friends is a Sunderland fan and since I have known him in 2006 we have never beat them!

Dalek2003 Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 If Fonte is out could Wanyama play in central defence and Cork midfield ? I would rather have Wanyama there than the Hooverman.
St Chalet Posted 14 February, 2014 Posted 14 February, 2014 Expect to see McQueen in for Gallagher based on that.
