mitch01 Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 Curtis' clearance was ridiculous! I didn't think we played particularly well for 65 minutes, but its great to finally win a bit of a scrappy one, which we don't often do (perhaps just the two WBA games?). John Cool Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 39 points with 12 games to go, I fancy us to bag 60 by the end of the season. Stats fans will be interested to see that our second half WLD record is the same as our real record http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/PR/sndhalf.html

SaintBobby Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 Only 1 point needed for safety. Just watched the game on Sky match choice, we were v v v good. Massive hat tip to the travelling fans - loud, clear and awesome. Tip top stuff.
Stud mark of doom Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 Great performance. Of those that played at some stage, no fewer than 8 were with us in league 1 (not necessarily in the first team). Amazing!
100%Red&White Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 Massive hat tip to the travelling fans Yep, near 1100 way oop north on a Tuesday night is a good show, a warm up for another even longer haul on Saturday! That was a great result, keeps the league battle alive with the mancs slipping up again and the Geordies starting to unravel a bit. Now onto the cup. Sour Mash Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 Anyone know why the Hull fans booed furiously whenever we started OWTS? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Because they were a bit small-time? They weren't bad support, fair few stood and made a bit of noise, but a lot of lower league type songs for most the game, like a Crystal Palace lite.version
yorkshiresaint Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 They weren't bad support apart from the few 16 year old tits throwing coins into our section, a 5p piece hit lad stood in front of us.

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 It was just that chant though, bit odd. They stopped after we scored, at least... Yeah that was very peculiar. Did their best to get involved with us and go back and forth with the chanting, and then the moment we scored they just shut-up and started moaning at their team. From one extreme to the other. SaintAndyB Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 Great result! Especially after Hull won at an on-form Sunderland team. We haven't lost since new years day now, bring on Sunderland in the cup.
benjii Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 Behave wasn't that bad. You're right actually. Apart from missing two golden chances, giving the ball away continuously and killing a lot of attacks he was quite good. The fact is, his performance levels are now consistently inadequate. He still scores some great goals and produces some excellent passes and touches (not last night though) but I would say he has far more poor games now than any of our other regular starters. In away games and against the better teams he often struggles badly. He would probably do better in a less dynamic and more rigid attacking side but that's irrelevant really. He's a great player to have in the squad but we need to replace him in the starting eleven if we're going to push on next season.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 12 February, 2014 Share Posted 12 February, 2014 What impressed me so much is the progress this shows we have made under MP. The starting XI (well squad minus Big Vic who got what, 2-3 mins?) were all here last season. I loved our Nigel, think he did a great job, and yeah I was upset when he left. Watching the closing period last night I still felt confident we would see it out, and that we never really looked in danger. Last season pre-MP I would never have felt that. No slight on Nige, but just shows to me what a good manager we have in MP. A good win, and good performance at a difficult place to go this season. I like Steve Bruce, not the most glamorous guy but seems a decent bloke and does a solid job. Think they a good for survival this season.
