Bjork - Hammersmith Apollo, just awesome.

Was supposed to be going to see her at Sheffield City Hall but she cancelled so I got a refund. She re-scheduled it and I bought new tickets, then she fvcking cancelled that one at the last minute as well. B1tch!

My best gigs this year were...

Portishead @ Manchester Apollo (their first official gig in the UK in about 8 years and it was simply awesome)

UNKLE @ Plug in Sheffield (really good live act)

Gomez @ Plug in Sheffield (their 10th anniversary tour)

Maiden @ Twickers - took my sons, the hotel we stopped in was absolutely swarming with Eddie T-shirts.

Rothwell Temperance Brass Band at Yeadon Town Hall, ( bit biased, my daughter plays for them ).

Also saw David Tennant playing Hamlet at the RSC ( Courtyard Theatre )

I saw James at Brixton Academy yetserday, was right at the front and it was pretty damn good. They are very good live :)

Following on from your post, my faves are...

1) James @ The Wedgewood Rooms (14th June)

2) James @ Brixton Academy (16th Dec)

3) James @ Oxford New Theatre (19th April)

As you can see, there is a bit of a pattern here. The reason being is that James are (probably) one of the best live bands of my generation. I have seen them over 20 times now and they just get better and better.

Erm, not been to many, but Alphabeat where quite a laugh at Casbah in Cov.

i saw their first few tracks at bestival, they were surprisingly unawful and just the thing to cleanse the palet between big name acts. the whole tent went very gay, i could feel myself turning...

Biggest let down MGMT at Glastonbury

most worryingly entertaining - Kylie

I saw Hamilton Saint's name, associated with this thread, on the index screen and immediately thought the Beatles had somehow reunited. :D

Haven't seen your name on the list for awhile.

Pendulum - Radio One Stage, Reading Festival

Bloc Party - Main Stage, Reading

The Killers - Main Stage, Reading

The Subways - Southampton Guildhall

R.A.T.M - Main Stage, Reading

Metallica - Main Stage, Reading

I enjoyed all of these (except Killers) although would only say that RATM would earn the title of 'best'.

Also saw The Subways at The Brook and were very very good. I was in the toilets being sick for most of their Guildhall set :(
