Saints 2-2 Stoke reaction

Meh. Are we ever going to beat this bunch of hoofers?

Stoke played us at our own game in the first half and sat back and played for the draw in the second. Draw was inevitable really. Not our best performance by a long way but the conditions looked horrific.

In a match very short of overall quality, I'm going to nominate Lambert as MOTM for that superb free kick to give us the lead.

Just one win in our last 7 premier league home games. Not good enough. Showed how much we relied on Lallana, he had an off day and we created virtually zilch. I know we scored 2 but that was a free kick and a fluke. Rodriguez was awful, Lambert not much better after the goal. Best player for me today was Davis. Why we didn't buy a striker to replace Osvaldo I cannot fathom, we were crying out for some fresh impetus 2nd half, yet our only sub to come on was Chambers. A very poor bench.

Frustrating game and disappointing result especially after taking the lead twice. Weather played a part as did Stoke's spoiling tactics. On the plus side, the team below us lost and we've gained a point on the team above us. Oh, and Pompey conceded an equaliser in the 4th minute of injury time :)

Get a win away at Hull and 4 points will be a decent enough return from the two games.

MOM Stoke defence - that was a great defensive display - not sure many teams today could have unlocked Stoke

It's pretty easy to defend when every attack comes straight down the middle, especially after a succession of backwards passes to give the defence time to get into position

Thought it was a good competitive game....the Stoke defence was very good today, especially Shawcross.....felt we missed some creativity in midfield just to unlock them.....Yoshida again had a good solid game, Cork was my MoM.....we just need to learn hoes to unlock stubborn defences...

we definitely DIDNT need anyone in jan. No way. Saintsweb had spoken!!!!!

all seriousness. seeing a player like tom ince go to palace on loan is annoying. we need to add variety at times to our play and he is an attacking wide player who could have done well here

even zaha too

Very frustrating at home, no win again!

We are messing up any slim chance we had of finishing in the top 6.

7 home league games and just the 1 win, now that has messed it all up.

We have drawn with Arsenal and Man City, but lost to Villa and drew with Stoke! Weird, bit of a mixed bag!

Frustrating 2nd half and too many long balls.

Stoke defended well.

Adam not at his best today; thought Davis deserved MOTM.

Fantastic goal from Rickie - Please don't let Gaston take any more of our free kicks.

2 points dropped again, just like the Arsenal game means we are unlikely to make top 6 on current form.

:(

You could complain about the lack of options on the bench all you want, but he had a winger and a midfielder with the kind of crossing ability that would have caused havoc in these conditions there and he didn't use them when he should have.

You can't complain about the subs not being good enough if you don't allow them on to the pitch to try and make a difference.
