Significant changes since Cortese left

no official word but the fact we have our main defender out, a trouble making striker gone, and still no a adequate back up for boruc and nothing coming in the transfer window suggests either the money isn't there i.e. we ****ed 30m up the wall on Gaston and osvaldo and KL doesn't want to gamble anymore or KL is planing to sell the club at the end of the season

Or there were no players available that fitted the profile we wanted or the deals we tried to do didn't come off.

What a ridiculous statement!

Or we've decided to trust our Academy to fill the gaps. KL has so far made sound business decisions.

The next is to try and keep a World Class Manager

Haven't you just contradicted yourself? If that were true the compellling time to sell would be now - manager and players in place, PL status all but totally assured. And she isnt.

No I don't think I have contradicted myself. Whether now or a few months down the line isn't especially relevant to the point I'm making. However, I suspect Pochettino has been given certain assurances to the end of the season at least. I'm not saying she will sell either. How would I know. Just that there is a strong economic argument for sale.

What we supporters think has and will always matter to the likes of Katharina Liebherr. It is something she has inherited from her father. This is why things have definitely changed for the better. I'm expecting many new announcements in the coming weeks now that the transfer window is closed and the powers that be get down to the nitty gritty of making SFC accountable and more open.

Add to that the fact that Cortese's pet Daily Mail journo Neil Ashton said on Five Live when he left saying that the rat faced dwarf had no plans to make any signing in January anyway.

Our transfer window dealings have been no different following the change of leadership. People need to calm down.

Is this really necessary? If you don't like him or what he did fine, but resorting to childish name calling of someone who has moved on, and IMHO tried to do his best to improve SFC whilst he was here is a new low even for this site!

Got to keep Pochettino. This will be the first major test.

If he goes then theres no chance we will be anywhere near as good next season.

He has maximised potential in all players and developed a clear team spirit.

Will be a sad day if he goes. Will be more gutting than when Shaw goes.

I keep reading about how essential it is to keep MP but I ask this

Would anyone swap our squad for any of the teams below us? I wouldn't so is he doing such a great job or not?

I think we are better off with him than without but maybe it's not as integral as some people make it

Not on current form, because MP has got the best out of the players. They love working with him and if a new Manager came in it would have a big impact.

Certainly parts of the mongboard great and the good certainly think that MP isn't doing anything more than NA would have done with the same players and resources.

Then again those who think that tend to be some of the biggest planks on here.

From what I hear from the training ground he is a very good and very modern young coach that brings an aweful lot of hard work, determination and ideas to Staplewood.

You can certainly see that from how he has us organised, if you think the way we play is easy to coach you are very much mistaken.

The arguement you put forward isnt really an arguement, its the coach that steers the ship. After all Utd won the leaguevlast year with roughly the same team.

If she was looking to sell or not invest any more, I wouldn't expect her to be at games like she has been. Therefore the only indication there has been to me is a positive one.

Keeping the manager and players is key. I think everyone has accepted Shaw will be off though.

I don't accept Shaw will be off. The only way he or other key players would be sold will surely depend upon KL's long term commitment to the club or whether they want to leave, and that decision could be influenced by KL securing the services of MP to continue the good work. The foundations and structures within the club that yield the success we see on the pitch and is evidenced in our league position, have been contributed to by many and if the "Vision" remains the same and the "Journey" is to continue then future investment will be essential.

I hope KL is in it for the long term which I believe will mean we keep our key players and add to the squad in the summer much as we did last summer.

The players who have left us in the last few years for millions ie OXO Walcott and Bale have all done really well so I would not be surprised if Shaw went somewhere in the summer for more money and Champions League action but I dont know what motivates him but playing at the top level must be very stimulating but only time will tell.

I dont think the club will sell him if he does not want to go but lots of players do move to better clubs for a variety of reasons like Cork and Jay Rod moved to us

Wow... huge changes... no more parking costs... and er... everyone is happier... and er... well forgive me but how is all that really important? Fans are just so freakishly fickle, inconsistent and love to suddenly become all selfrighteous about such monumental club cultural things as free parking.... yet a few years ago, I seem to recall the vast majority on here and its previous incarnations, being rather assertive in their view that all the 'nice' fan friendly stuff that Lowe did now and again counted for jack **** as it was a results driven business... we wanted investment and ambition, nothing else mattered... although I daresay there will be plenty of revisionism towards that attitude now.

I want my club to win games - and do all it can to win as many as possible. I want it to show ambition. I want it to be led by folks who do NOT accept there is a natural level for the club, but focus on what is possible, not probable - it's not about what we achieve or do not... but about how we go about it and how hard we try - under NC we had that in spades. No guarrantees and probabilty of success if putting on the 'sensible hat' was always going to be low, but NOT zero and the focus on what was possible was about aspiration and refusing to accept a glass ceiling and our 'place' - that was what was good. Sure the price was by all accounts a bit of a dictatorial regime - and car parking charges - but those now jumping on the 'I am glad he has gone and never liked him' bandwagon and shouting that 'he just wanted to spend KLs money to achieve CL' should ask themselves if that was the case.... why invest so much in the Academy? Why bother if he just wanted to splash stupid money on 'proven' stars? Why go for academy spend which is long term? Sorry but your comments are inconsistent with the reality.

NC believed it would be 'possible' to progress by USING home grown talent... Notice the word Possible and no one can argue with that. How 'Probable it was was another matter, but it was the focus and energy on what was possible that made it exciting.

Naturally, the hope is now that KL will get the bug and continue in the same vein.. yet some posts seem to suggest acceptance of our 'position', as if because Benali can walk around SMS and we can park for free, that makes it all great - a 'family' club once again... all well and good, but if we accept 'stabilty' and the odd good cup run... WTF? how is that aspirational? how is that ambition?

NC - never going to be everyones cup of tea. BUT i just hope his exit does not mark the end of our ambitions to more than just another prem also ran. In 2003 after the Ciup final and an 8th place finish, that was NOT considered to be the pinnacle of what we could do - as fans shouted loud for Lowe to show some ambition - spend 12mil on Saha and Malbranque, yet were left disspointed and disillusioned that Lowe was not building on what we had acheived... yet seems many on here are now comfortable with 8th or 9th... either there has been a complete shameless change of heart, or the future will see fans turn on KL when we DO become fecked off with scraping 14th again...

Personally, I have gone past stripes. Think the red is here to stay. Stripes look old-fashioned to my eye now.

You could be right. I like the strong red though I would like more recognition that our traditional shirt has red and white stripes in the kit, perhaps on the sides of the shirt.

In the big scheme of things the millions that KL would get for selling Shaw is small beer, while she would see the value of the club rise by keeping our best players and maintaining our rise up the table.

On the other hand if our Prem position looked like worsening (which I don't think it will provided we keep Shaw and the first team players in the summer) then if she decided to sell she might be more likely to want to sell the club with star players intact.
