Channon's Windmill Posted 31 January, 2014 Share Posted 31 January, 2014 Strange timing tho... why not do it a few weeks ago and give the new man a chance to change the squad.

I ask because I can never tell with you, is this for real? You're up that way, right? so will no a few. It's interesting, as the few I know are disappointed he's gone. The one I spoke too FB, and some of his mas also commenting feel he was stitched up a bit by boardroom unrest. Not saying you are wrong/lying etc. just interesting to see both sides. Most don't rate him and have wanted him out for a while, crap football, crap signings and going no where.

Thanks, as I said was just interested as I had seen some differing views from the Leeds fans I know.
Berkshire Saint Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Not sure he'll manage again. Was a very reluctant manager initially at Reading and one of my mates knows his daughter who said he wasn't particularly enjoying it up at Leeds. Get the feeling with him at Reading that it was a situation where everything seemed to fall into place at the same time. He'd been at the club for years in a number of roles, knew the players well and created a decent team spirit. Most Reading 'fans' I know would acknowledge that they rode their luck a bit two years ago. By all accounts Adkins is getting them playing much better football, possibly with players who aren't suited to play it, and despite the takeover issues going on there they are still well placed to make the play-offs. Badger Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Absurd - but with Italian owners coming in, I'd expect a change of manager even if at the end of the season. Wonder if the new owners are looking for a CEO with Italian connections.
S-Clarke Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 It's obviously a very horrible backtrack. I reckon the new owners wanted him gone, said as much, saw the reaction and the poor PR and thought...let's reverse that choice! It's not like it was a rumour either, Mcdermott was told and told the players yesterday afternoon!
