ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Who`s the scapegoat today fellas... Bound to be Maya irrespective of performance as was for Arsenal game... Actually try to be fair and actually judge on performance...
bazza Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 The slight puzzle is that Davies keeps his place ahead of Cork. I love Davies, but think Cork overall has been better. MP must see them as two really different positions/skill-sets. Cork breaks up opposition play and distributes, vs Davies a little more creative moving forward. I can see that... but still wish he would try Cork/Vic as partnership with Spider replacing Davies. Truth is, we have plenty of great midfield options, esp when you add JWP to the mix. That's because they are. And it's DAVIS ffs.
trousers Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Good to see Pochettino picking what he believes to be the best starting 11 rather than allowing sentiment to dictate his choice. Just because Cork has been excellent doesn't mean that Wanyama can't be better to the balance of the team overall. Of course, watch out for the "I told you so" posts in the match reaction thread when Wanyama has a nightmare game
SNSUN Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Drop Morgan & play Cork & VW? I actually think Morgan is good enough to adapt to play in the attacking trio behind the striker, which would resolve the Cork/Wanyama problem. Either way, it's a squad game. All the players are needed at different times.
ART Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 OMG. Davis now in line to be the scapegoat as Fox has gone

jayrivers Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Cork and Wanyama can't play n the same team....not my words, came from Mauricio himself back in November. I always took this as he wnt play two people who do the same role in the same team, rather than as two people they cannot play together.
JoeShmoe Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Think VW allows Morgan to push on a bit and he dies offer a valid goal threat

I see it as he wants a ball winner and morgan wanyama is miles better defensively than cork good competition to have
Olallana Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Cant argue with the lineup but maybe I would´ve liked to see Gallagher starting again and having Lambert off the bench if needed in the second half. But also dont know Lamberts fitness, if he´s been training för 4-5 days he´s the obvious choice.
S-Clarke Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 I think Cork has been magnificent for us, so I'm surprised VW has come straight back in - but let's be honest, on form VW is one of the best DM's in Europe. He was the crucial part of our defensive stability at the start of the season.
Dr Who? Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Going to win this one 1-3. Very confident today after the performance on Tuesday.
SW5 SAINT Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 Anybody else hear Paul Merson waxing lyrical over Southampton, and stating that if Lallanna played for anybody else the pundits would be waxing lyrical over him?
Dr Who? Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 We are only 10 points above relegation zone. We need 3 points to avoid being dragged down. Please do not even go there. 8 points from 15 games and have you seen our fixtures. We will be safe by the end of the month. We are safe now, but we will pass 40 points by the end of Feb. Chewy Posted 1 February, 2014 Share Posted 1 February, 2014 I think cork and victor could play together in tough away games, pushing Morgan further forward, but only when we really need two holding players, like at citeh. To do so at Fulham, probably the worst team I've seen at st Mary's since we got back to the premier league, would be too negative. Very tough on cork, but mopo had to choose between them today IMHO.
