Batman Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 what a great game to watch we look SOOOOOO much better with a striker who is mobile. Sorry to say it regarding Lambert. SG had to have scored that. but with the players we had missing, 2-2 at home to the league leaders, not bad Lallana, Morgan and cork were very good but Shaw, my MoM

NewYorkSaint Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 When you back a team that plays football pretty much as entertainingly as it can be played, you have to be happy. That was really terrific tonight. Yeah, we deserved to win. But frankly the points arent' the biggest deal these days. What matters more is that we're building a side capable of truly being one of the best in the world.
igsey Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 Katerina looked genuinely thrilled at the end. Hopefully she'll want to splash some cash in the next couple of days! She must have noticed that Yoshida was the weak link at the back and that a top class PL striker would've won that for us.

Ewell Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 I thought we played very well particularly in the first half. Luke Shaw and Morgan Schneiderlin were outstanding and young Gallagher looks a decent prospect. He just needs a bit more experience which will come in time. Easty Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 What a great game to watch, we played the Arsenal way, and out played them all over the pitch. 2 points dropped, but all the same a great game. COYR
Baird of the land Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 Shows how far we've come that i'm frustrated we didn't beat them. Hopefully we'll learn to kill teams off when we have the chance in the future. Great performance by the team. Put Fulham to the sword on Saturday by playing with same intensity please. Badger Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 Good result though - who wouldn't have accepted that pre-kick off, and even more so when we went 2-1 down ? Usual problems though - dominate and only score once. We're just too wasteful.

DuncanRG Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 (edited) Great game and a great performance. Ultimately disappointed we couldn't get the win, I thought after the red card we could push on but it's difficult with so few options up top. I think Sczcesny was probably man of the match, but everyone played very well for us. Yoshida a little shakey at times but capable when it mattered. Gallagher looked very lively in his movement until the miss - he was a step behind Mertesacker after that. Congrats to him on his first start though - here's to many more in the future. ExSt Peter Saint Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 Another games we deserved to win, but didn't would be the gloomy version. Great performance, though and I'd rather have academy lads out there playing like that than expensive prima donnas to be honest. Shaw was superb going forward, but both Arsenal goals were scored from sloppy defending down the left - not that it was Luke there at that time. doubleonothing Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 Would have taken that before kick off, but feel we were unlucky not to win. Sheaf Saint Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 I'm sat here angry that once again we didn't win a game in which we were so dominant, and then I have to remind myself they are the league leaders. Frustrating because on the balance of play Arsenal didn't really deserve a draw, although you can't really argue about the quality of their second goal. But missed chances and a couple of defensive lapses have, just as in the Sunderland game, cost us two points. Some good performances out there tonight. Shaw was excellent, as was Lallana. Morgan bossed the middle of the park and Cork was everywhere. Steven Davis may not be the most gifted player but he has proved time and time again he will never let us down and put in a poor shift. Have to say I was impressed with Gallagher. Playing against the best (statistically) team in the PL and he didn't look out of place at all. Gave us another attacking dimension that we often lack due to Lambert's immobility. Shame he couldn't convert that decent chance but I won't hold it against him as the spin on the ball from the deflection off Lallana (?) made it very difficult to hit cleanly. Patrick Bateman Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 Agree with most so far. Definitely 2 points dropped - Arsenal scored one very good goal and one goal we should have prevented and we should have punished them more up front. Gallagher was very good and offered something we've been missing in a fast striker. I really do like Chambers too, especially today - but I think the one thing he needs to improve on is not going that one step/man too far and looking for the right pass earlier. Morgan was MoTM for me - immense, everywhere, bossed the midfield. Fonte, Lallana, Shaw all excellent too, in fact, harsh to really call out anyone as poor tonight. Great match - really enjoyed it, but didn't think I'd be that frustrated that we could have beaten Arsenal (fairly easily) at home!

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 2 points dropped but a fabulous performance from a side packed with Academy graduates. The better side for long periods.
