SuperSAINT Posted 29 January, 2014 Share Posted 29 January, 2014 Birmingham City are in talks to sign former Southampton defender Aaron Martin, Sky Sports understands. Martin was released by Southampton yesterday and Birmingham are interested in taking him on. Fair play to him - That's higher than I thought he'd go. disconnect Posted 30 January, 2014 Share Posted 30 January, 2014 Good to see he's got a big club. Hope Birmingham stay up and he has lots of game time and earns a longer contract.
fanimal Posted 30 January, 2014 Share Posted 30 January, 2014 One slipped through the net, bet we end up buying him back in a couple of years.
sidthesquid Posted 30 January, 2014 Share Posted 30 January, 2014 This is a bit like the Danny Fox thread - he is just not quite Prem quality, but hopefully he will have the long, successful career his determination deserves. I wish him all the best.

Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Share Posted 4 June, 2014 Signed for Yeovil today after he was released by Birmingham. So eventually he ends up in the bargain basket for ex Saints footballers, still it's a job and he should get some game time there in league 1. John Boy Saint Posted 4 June, 2014 Share Posted 4 June, 2014 Signed for Yeovil today after he was released by Birmingham. Probably a relief to be away from the Basket Case that Birmingham is.
Lets B Avenue Posted 4 June, 2014 Share Posted 4 June, 2014 Still think he will be back at Eastleigh before long.
Chez Posted 4 June, 2014 Share Posted 4 June, 2014 Probably a relief to be away from the Basket Case that Birmingham is. Might have new owners this summer that will save all bluenoses from the madness

david in sweden Posted 7 September, 2014 Share Posted 7 September, 2014 (edited) good day for him. The " proof of the pudding " will be if he can do this on a fairly regular basis during the season. Alternatively; Yeovil may have found themselves a new striker ! Got a bit of stick from one or two names on here from day 1 after coming from Eastleigh. To be fair moving up 4 or 5 divisions in one go does take a bit of adjustment, but he DAJFU when there was a mid-season injury crisis during the Championship year, and netted a couple of goals, too. The eternal problem of a young CB who's 3rd of 4th choice (ala Garry Monk, Mike Williamson, Chris Baird) who can't get regular games with the first team, and eventually move on to become late developers.
