A player we have been linked to for about 18 months. First came up in Adkins time here.

Was very highly rated as an 18 year old, but is now 22 and hasn't really fulfilled all of his promise. Still, he's full of quality. (he's a striker, but can play part of a 3)

Hmmm. Difficult to tell from the vid how much impact he would have but at least he looks to have pace and decent control

Noticed this on twitter but not seen a source apart from Saints fans retweeting it? Where's this come from then ?

This appears to be the first person to have tweeted the 'news'...

Registers 8/10 on the vague-o-meter...

Saints have flown in a striker from Udinese Calcio tonight & he will be at the game tomorrow

Its doing my head in trying to find out who it is, can't find anything on twitter etc. But I know they have flown someone in for sure.

Can any shed any light?

Found it. Good ol' Southampton Rumours. Sorry chaps...

Probably just twitter bollix but frankly is it worth going again for another south american at all? Have we ever had a decent one? Off the top of my head only Guly has been a qualified success (for the league we signed him in etc). To be fair to the lad he looks good on the YouTube but then so did Gaston and so did Ramirez. Obviously it's wrong to label all South Americans like this (he could be like Suarez or Coutinho) but it's not like we've had much success in this area before.

God' date=' we have had some shockers from South America haven't we? Delgado, Chala, Sarmiento, Tejera, Arias - anyone else? Thought Viafara and Guly did reasonable jobs and, for me, the verdict is still out on Ramirez.[/quote']

Viafara was pretty good for us. I liked him.

The derby celebration made him a cult hero for a while though! 'I Sorry I Ruin the party''

This guy is amazing on Football Manager- and we'd be pace abused on FIFA ;)

But in all seriousness, this guy doesn't seem all that when I've seen him in real life... It would all depend on the price tbh, but I don't think this guy would cut it in the Prem- hope I'm wrong though (only if he comes to us!)

You've mentioned 4 who never played and 2 who were good signings. I wouldn't judge anyone else on those. He might be great or ****. Must have a chance of the world cup with Falcao out?

Pretty sure Jackson Martinez is their second striker... Though it will help his chances regardless.

Don't recall judging Muriel at all. Just pointed our we've not had much luck with our imports from there thus far in my opinion. Yup, would imagine he will be one if their go to guys with Falcao out.

Another gamble because our initial gamble failed.

And how much of a gamble is allowing Osvaldo to go back to Italy, leaving Jay & Rickie to be covered by Sam Gallagher & your favourite, Guly?

You don't seem to have grasped Osvaldo simply can't be allowed back - he is history but we do need to replace him you are right on that score

Bit unfair on Delgado

He was the best one legged footballer we ever had

If only we could have got the other leg to work, he'd have been magic

Not sure you can claim to be ITK about something that pops up on football-rumours 6 months later?!?

Not sure you can claim to know anything about football if you think clubs don't watch players for an extensive period of time before making a bid

He is a beast on FIFA ultimate team,so we should sign him for sure on that basis

Good on FIFA, good on YouTube, all we need Are his fm14 stats and we can make a decision.

Ramirez looked good, but not sure Gaston did. Odd that you never see them together.

If you read another of my recent posts, I said that I'm sure loads of clubs watch many different players for differing periods of time. If it turns out to be true, I might even say fair play Glasgow for being ITK, however, a dodgy rumour on football-rumours doesn't do much for me I'm afraid.

FWIW I did hear yesterday (through my cousin who lives with someone that works at Saints) that there was an un-named Spanish-speaking player at SMS yesterday. One of the reasons MP didnt have his his usual translator at the presser...

I thank you for reminding me of this again. Still my best moment at a game ever, possibly...
