rickylambert Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 So, the teams left in the competition are as follows: Arsenal Preston/Forest Liverpool Swansea Cardiff Charlton Man City Brighton Sheffield Wednesday SAINTS Hull Sunderland Wigan Everton (Probably) Sheffield United/Fulham Chelsea/Stoke. Ideally I'd like Sheffield United, but doubt they'll get a win at Fulham tomorrow, but out of the teams already through, I'd have Charlton
Lighthouse Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Beating Brighton is always a good laugh so I'd take them at home. Other than that, the easiest team definitely through is probably Charlton or Wednesday.
Mr Dad Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Brighton! The closest we can get to a home derby now we've lost the team down the road.
Saint_Tony Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Must be one of the most boring FA cup weekends ever, and now the strongest looking last 16 for a while. Charlton at home and then hope Chelsea draw Man City and Arsenal draw Liverpool. I genuinely believe we can make the semis/final this year, COYR!
paulwantsapint Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Brighton if Fonte can get fouled 2yards outside box & still be awarded pen in a hatRickie performance
The Cat Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 I'd like to see us beat Brighton at the Amex. The stuffing we got there 2 seasons ago still annoys me.
BlakeySFC Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday at home would be a lovely draw.
RonManager Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Sheffield Utd away as I still haven't done Bramall Lane.
Golden Balls Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 A lot of good sides still in it. Need them to draw each other and hope we get a home tie against the lowest rank side.
SuperSAINT Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Charlton @ St Mary's please. Bet we get Liverpool.
Manuel Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Another one for Brighton at SMS. Some terrible diving in that game.
shurlock Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Forest away because I'm at uni there I didnt have you down as a Trent type
sammysaint Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Anyone at Home or a championship lower league side specially if their in or getting dragged into the relegation battle going to league one is worse then prem to championship.
Pastor Patrón Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 I didnt have you down as a Trent type Uni of, Trent is for dumbasses
nta786 Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 No ones made this joke yet so- Id like Portsmouth!!! Oh wait...
GazzerMaBoy Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Sheffield Utd away as I still haven't done Bramall Lane. This... or one of the lesser teams at SMS to give us a greater chance of prolonging our cup run.
DuncanRG Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Uni of, Trent is for dumbasses You tell 'em Sheffield United away for the novelty of walking to a Southampton match. Will settle for Wednesday
LGTL Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Have wanted an away tie up to now, but this far into the competition I want an easy home tie. Then we can really start to get excited.
Colinjb Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Charlton for me. I've converted Dad from being a boyhood Charlton fan to a Saints season ticket holder, I want to see how deep his loyalties now lie!
View From The Top Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 For reasons of progression then anyone from a lower division at home. For a better day out either Sheffield club away.
Bucks Saint Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Some terrible diving in that game. But some good stuff too, including a right back for us who can deliver an excellent cross with his left foot
PaulSaint Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 I said 5 seconds after we left St Marys that we'd get Brighton at home, a full house and some actual atmosphere.
Minsk Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 in order of preference: 1. Home to Sheff Wed 2. Home to Charlton 3. Home to Bighton Meanwhile, I hope the other ties include: Chelsea Vs Citeh Arse Vs Liverpool Swansea Vs Cardiff Hull Vs Everton
Chez Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 Brighton away or a trip to Charlton. Always a decent atmosphere in that away end under that massive roof.
trousers Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 I'll go with Brighton at home too.... bet we get Sunderland away again though....
Sheaf Saint Posted 25 January, 2014 Posted 25 January, 2014 For reasons of progression then anyone from a lower division at home. For a better day out either Sheffield club away. This for me please. The last time I went to Hillsborough we somehow managed to lose 5-0 to a very average Wednesday side, and I never hear the end of it from my Owls supporting mates so it would be nice to lay that ghost to rest. And although we have played there at least twice since I have been living up here, I have never yet been to see Saints at Bramall Lane.
Berkshire Saint Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 Either Sheffield club away would be decent as I went to Uni there so any excuse for a return is good! Otherwise, the weakest side left at home (so Wednesday or Charlton at the moment). Bet we get Sunderland away.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 (edited) Same as always, worst side left in the draw at home. So that would be what Charlton or Sheffield Wednesday then ? If we have to draw a PL side please let it be Fulham, and at home, mind you Swansea are in complete disarray, put them down as 4th choice then. Edited 26 January, 2014 by Window Cleaner
Whitey Grandad Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 A home tie please Bob. Preferably the worst team left in it.
Ric Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 I'd like Charlton (4), Wednesday (, or Sheffield United (16) (if they beat Fulham). At home, naturally. I'd rather have Charlton or Wednesday than (6): Forest are going well in the Championship, and Preston are doing well in League 1. To be honest, I'd be happy with any tie, home or away, if we avoided the likes of City (13), Liverpool (14), Everton (10), Arsenal (9) & Chelsea (12).
NewYorkSaint Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 I'd be happy with any home again... ...and quite fancy a draw against Arsenal, Chelsea, City or Liverpool. On our day we can beat any of them. Chances of getting to Wembley are fairly low. If we win a tie like that , we've truly earned the right to be there. And if we don't, at least we went out with a bang. Worst scenario is going out to someone like Brighton. Just my mindset.

We play Hull away on the Tuesday beforehand and I wouldn't want any of our young heads fuzzed by thoughts of cup glory against Chelsea or Liverpool the week-end afterwards. Hull away is a tough game, we'll need 100% to get anything much, especially with no Lovren.
stu0x Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 Forest away because I'm at uni there Explains a lot
Matthew Le God Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 As ever in these threads... I want the worst team left in the competition at St Mary's in order to give us the best possible chance of winning the FA Cup.
Pastor Patrón Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 Explains a lot Exactly, scholars of this nature don't grow on Shirley trees
Window Cleaner Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 Explains a lot Nottingham is fairly reputable for some fields, Trent ? haven't got a clue, EoA's girl goes there I think but she's an artist.
Ric Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 What number are we? I believe we're 3. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Badger Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 Charlton or Fulham away will be a good day out. Only if you are able to get a ticket though...neither will be a large allocation I'm assuming so unlikely to reach general sale to members
Saints foreva Posted 26 January, 2014 Posted 26 January, 2014 Brighton/Charlton away or Sheffield Wednesday at home.
