Nice piece here:

Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh said: “I’d like to thank Southampton for their help in getting this deal over the line.

“Things haven’t been easy at St Mary’s in recent weeks but they have been fantastic to deal with throughout.

a change in policy in terms of % of wages we are willing to pay perhaps?

Aside from the "incident" - who hasn't been involved in a fight when p!ssed up? - he has been a model pro for us. Not played in almost 2 years but not whinged about it. Scored some vital goals in L1 too.

Good luck Lee!

I don't recall ever punching someone with a pint glass tbh, nor do I know anyone who has.

Me, all my family and to the best of my knowledge pretty much all of my friends.

Makes a change from what seemed (!) to have happened when Billy S went to Reading, although some lay the blame with Reading dragging things out so that they could cover the Xmas period.

Adkins wanted Sharp to sign again in January, but this is a big factor at Reading at the moment...

So he went to Doncaster.

Southend's transfer embargo was lifted today. They couldn't have signed Barnard when Cortese was still here as the embargo was still in place.

Didn't realise that they tried to sign again, but I was referring to the first loan (was it back in September?) that seemed to be playing with BS's career too much.

which was entirely Reading's fault. As it was an emergency loan (as are all loans outside TWs) it couldn't surpass 92 days or something and they wanted him for the XMas/New Year period so they arranged the start date accordingly.

with Billy going back to Donnie and now Lee Barnard (thats all the Lee's gone now) it looks like the three Prodigals might return from whence they came.

None became legends, but may be kindly remembered by Saints' fans as players who contributed (fairly postively) in the various League situations they were involved in.

Some will find it difficult to forgive and forget Dani Osvaldo and (apart from remembering one of the most brilliant individual goals in the last decade).... recall that it was one very expensive deal we would like to forget.

Barnard glassed someone and Dani nutted someone. If Dani is to be treated as some kind of disgusting low life where the F does that leave Barnard?
