Bad Wolf Posted 24 January, 2014 Share Posted 24 January, 2014 Have we heard anything from any player since Cortese left? I've seen no pre match or post match comments from anyone. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough but I don't recall any player saying anything since. Also why was Jesus doing the press conference yesterday and not MP? I want to believe that it was just because it was a cup game and not worth MP's time but I also have things in my mind like, is he off because Shaw's been sold behind his back or something? I know I'm sounding paranoid but I'm not feeling very positive about Saints at the moment!

It's always all on the OS, you only need to check it out. JWP has spoken today as well I believe.

trousers Posted 24 January, 2014 Share Posted 24 January, 2014 Jack Cork also did a post match interview for the media after the Sunderland game (mainly due to him getting MotM). Said that the Cortese situation hadn't affected the players and that it was "business as usual" as far as they were concerned. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/19/jack-cork-saints-southampton-sunderland

trousers Posted 24 January, 2014 Share Posted 24 January, 2014 Surely Adam Johnson was Man Of The Match that game? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2541407/Sunderland-v-Southampton-live-Premier-League.html "There's no pressure on the Sunderland players in the middle of the park - Jack Cork is looking like Andrea Pirlo" "Jack Cork is dominating this game. He has 37 complete passes already and all of the top five players in passes completed come from the away side." "Cork continues to impress in the middle - he has been handed the man of the match award - but there is still plenty of time for someone else to be the game's key performer if they can grab a winner." Deano6 Posted 25 January, 2014 Share Posted 25 January, 2014 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2541407/Sunderland-v-Southampton-live-Premier-League.html Well that Guardian article you quoted gave it to Borini! The NBC commentators over here (Ian Crocker and Dean Sturridge) gave it to Johnson. He did set up one and score one to bring a team 2-0 down early on to back on level terms, and by the end the more likely team to win it. He was the standout performer on the Sunderland team.
