Yeovil (FA Cup 4th Round) Thread

thats all a load of nonsense. it is purely down to lack of communication between the clubs, Yeovil were entitled to 4800, but they had to say that at the beginning before we started selling block 42 to saints fans.

as they waited until they sold the initial 3100 before asking for more it was too late by then.

perhaps saints should have held back block 42 on the off chanced Yeovil needed more to maximise revenue.

but NC has been not been around for weeks. usually, this is all his fault, right?

Looking forward to this game. It's a shame they didn't take the whole allocation as that would have given it a good cup tie feel. We should obviously turn them over but you never know! Up the saints!

Yeovil are still bringing 3100 so a good turn out from them, I expect Northam blocks 40/41/42 will be virtually full of saints fans so that whole end will be full with empty corners either side.

looking online the Kingsland and Itchen centres are selling well. Not many tickets sold in the chapel though.

my guess is total crowd will be about 20k

I'd like us to put out a strong side then hope for luck of the draw in round 5.

Hopefully you're right and there'll be a decent turnout. I can't help thinking the £2 on the day surcharge (although not a lot of money) puts a downer on people doing walk ups

I agree with you on this

Because I was uncertain of my whereabouts I bought my ticket for the Bristol City game on the morning of the game (for an evening KO)

I wasn't aware of the surcharge and was asked to pay £22 for a ticket

For a moment I thought about walking but didn't

I know £2 is not a great deal of money in the grand scale of things but it was the principle that annoyed me, especially as the three people ahead of me were being delayed at the Ticket office and I was expecting to exceed the 15mins parking time

All this for what was really a reserve team fixture!!

It's the FA cup ffs

You can't complain the magic has gone and then moan about the fixture

It's the FA cup. Go and enjoy it

It's priced at the cost of a league 2 game. Yet that is not enough???

Does anyone know if you can buy tickets for this game on the day from the ticket office?

That's what the £2 surcharge is about.

Given we play Arsenal on Tuesday and they have extra recovery time than us I would be inclined to mix it up. Yeovil wont be anywhere near as good as Burnley so we can probably get away with the calamitous Jos and Fox. Clyney needs a run out but I would rather him play against Arsenal to be honest.

Boruc

Chambers

Yoshida

Jos

Fox

Wanyama

JWP

Davis

Guly

Lambert

Osvldo

Jrod and Lallana ready to come on if things are going t1ts up. These two are so important to us that I dont see the point is risking them from the start against a poor championship team. Even with our friends Jos, Fox and Guly playing we should still have enough about us to win. If it was stronger opposition or Arsenal game was the following weekend then I would be all for playing them. No disrespect to Yeovil meant but good opportunity to save key players for much harder game 3 days later.

In a game that has no chance of selling out, why take a chance that Yeovil might come back for extra tickets?

do you mean why not take the chance?

if it was me i'd have just given Yeovil the whole Chapel end and wished them well at selling tickets. Looking online it doesn't look like many saints fans want to sit in that end anyway

I seem to remember that there is a caveat written into the allocation rules regarding reduced allocation, something to do with safety issues. I've never been in that end of the Northam but the league allocation is always about 3200 which I believe has it's own away concourse. Can this be extended into the Saints section safely and with Police agreement.

I believe it can Derry where I sit/stand in Block 41 when there's a massive away following such as Man Utd/ Chelsea in the cup previously my seat is the one which is right next to where the divide is for away fans. Was quality when Chaplow put us ahead against Utd whilst still in league 1. IIRC there was some barrier dividing the fans in the concourse which was obviously temporary

That makes sense. Sounds like "fully segregated" is the criteria. Although the guarantee of sale of any initial allocation may be another reason. Additionally it's 15% 0f issued tickets, therefore with the corners closed the issue is reduced.

I've just realised that I arrive in England for the first time in a year or so on the morning of the 17th May. It's fate I tell you. I wonder how much tickets will be selling for on ebay...

It's fate that we'll get to the FA Cup final just because it is the 17th May...which was the same day as Cardiff!

I think we need to play Fonte and Yoshida together to give them match practice with each other. With match practice I think Yoshida can be a solid backup. Whilst certainly not being in Lovren's class he can be half decent against quality opposition even if he makes a few mistakes.

After Jos' last few perfomances I wouldn't play him against League One opposition, let alone Championship/PL opposition.

Watching Sunderland win tonight makes me yearn for a cup run. We're 3 games from Wembley for goodness sake.

There are 5 teams left that 4 times out of 5 would beat us-the rest I'd feel confident beating home or away.

I hope Poch is good to his word and puts out a good team. Don't underestimate Yeovil either-they have a history of cup upsets and Johnson is one wily son of a gun.

I didn't want to hear about us putting out a weakened squad prior to the game. At least it might make a good game of it though.

Did Yeovil ever bring a full allocation in league 1? Can't remember

No, no they didn't.

This is the great advantage of having drawn what looks to be a distinctly mediocre opponent. We can play a reduced strength side and still hope..nay expect to win. Don't know how much difference it will make to the result against Arsenal though, depends on who's actually available for that game I expect.

This. If the likes of Guly, JWP, Fox etc can't beat Yeovil then what are they doing at the club. Still, expect we will have to bring on the odd big hitter to see us home.

The odd big hitter ? well obvioulsy I don't think we're going to play the U21s, there will be a few regulars to set the tone I expect.

We need to be careful over injuries though, looking at the horrific injury of Falcao due to an amateur's tackle last night you understand the fragility of a top player against poor opposition and do nothing refs.

Does Perez take charge of cup games? I only ever see his comments pre/post match.

Or is MP clicking the send assistant button?

Well for the last FA Cup game MP was there on the day, myself and my family were sat just across from him, although he looked very uninterested in the whole thing (but who knows if he has no interest in the FA Cup or was his mind on NC possibly leaving etc ?).
