Strangest game I've seen for a long, long time. Should have been out of sight by HT given our dominance.

J Rod needs to practice his shooting. It's all very well creating space for yourself like he does very well, but it's meaningless if he is just going to waste chance after chance due to poor finishing.

I hate to say this, given his legend status, but Lambert was a waste of f*cking space out there today. Was OKish for the first half but after HT he just wasn't on it at all. I'm starting to think that if we can get £7m for him we should take it.

As for the injuries though - The Gaston one looks nasty, but (and I mean this with the utmost personal respect to him) he isn't actually one of our key players so won't actually be a huge miss. Lovren, on the other hand, is instrumental in our defence and if he is out for a while (which it looks like he will be) then we are seriously f*cked.

What a crazy afternoon. All that is beautiful and infuriating about football.

We were unbelievably good first half. Looked to be in a completely different league to Sunderland. And then, and then... a slow-motion disaster unfolds. I would have happily given them the game in return for no injuries to Lovren and Ramirez. That was a horrifying spell of play. Hope against hope they're OK... But Lovren looks to have a terrible injury there.

Frustrating result, didn't do a lot wrong - apart from not taking chances when they came in the 1st half. Awful tackle by Brown on Gaston - and would like to see the Lovren incident again as I think Gardner may have stamped on his ankle...2 points dropped but after the week we have had not the worst result

Good result - there was no way Sunderland werent going to come back into the game.

How is that a good result? Seriously? Come on, pretty unprofessional for us not to win that. The game should have been signed, sealed and done by HT. We were that good, that dominant. 2-0 flattered them. We should never have let them back into that in the 1st half, that goal was a nightmare.

Pathetic. They were dog sh*t and we could have scored 3-4 before they had their first shot.

Disaster with Lovren and Ramirez. We need to sign a player in January now 100%.

JRod needs to take his chances better. First goal was brilliant, if Suarez scored that they'd have been all over it.

Foul mood.

There was no stamp, I thought the same thing live but the injury occurred when Lovren swung his leg and seemed to jar his knee on Gardners thigh.

Browns lucky he didnt do that to Osvaldo, broken/dislocated ankle or not, the guy would have murderd him there and then.

Dissapointed with the result, but would have taken a point before the game. Hope Lovren and Ramirez arent to badly injured and the stretchers and oxygen was just a precaution.

Should've wrapped that up at half time....squandered loads of chances, need to be a bit more clinical in front of goal. Wes Brown should be banned for a horrendous tackle...how the ref missed that ...god only knows.... It's still a point away from home...onwards and upwards....

Furious with that result. Should have been all over in the first half. Jrod needs to work on finishing when the goal is at his mercy, he makes the hard stuff look easy but missing those two sitters cost us.

We are terrifically unlucky and have been all season, particularly with injuries. Over all thought the ref had a good game but little decisions like the corner we should of had from Shaws run. Just tiny things that keep happening. This injury situation is just incredible. Can't believe we have only got a point from that game.

What a fantastic game to watch. Brilliant entertainment.

We should've been out of sight in the first half; couple of wasted chances and a hit post - could've/should've had 4 or 5.

Always going to be tougher in the second half in front of a passionate crowd; thought we did pretty well at times - still created a few chances.

Gaston looked very lively when he came on.

Really hope the injuries aren't too bad.

Decent away point really.

KL needs to re-think opening her purse after the Lovren injury.

Ramirez isnt going to make a difference to anyone but the player himself. Probably not going to the WC. Feel sorry for him in a way, hes pratted around all season trying to save himself for Brazil, and a hod-carrier with 2 left feet has wrecked his chances anyway.

Before the match I had hoped for a draw after the week the club have had . But those two injuries are just a kick in the teeth .

I know Garston goes down a lot but that looked a nasty foul . How the ref missed that I have know idea . As for Loren the ref missed that as well and the subsequent hand ball by the Sunderland player . I think Loren's is the worse of the two injuries as I saw he was being given entonox . That is worrying .

Well done saints top you all played your part in a good result for us today

Utterly ****ed off. How we can dominate a game against one of the worst teams in the league and then throw away a 2 goal lead is beyond me. Tackle on Gaston was disgusting, if the ref did his job properly they go down to 10 men and Lovren doesn't get crocked straight after.

We need to get some defensive cover in ASAP, god forbid having to see out the season with Jos at CB

The injuries are the worst thing. Generally we played well.

The killer was the goal for 2-1.

Agreed, a really sloppy goal at a period where the locals were on their backs, they were streaming out of their seats. We either close out that 2nd half, or get the 2nd, 3rd, 4th we deserved. Defensively pretty crap, considering how good we were at the start of the season. That goal changed the entire direction of the match, 2-0 at HT and it was a totally different 2nd half.

Injuries just make it worse than I could have ever imaged after 30mins.

What a rollercoaster.

I said to my son after the first 30 mins that we needed to get at least 3 goals in the first half as Sunderland couldn't possibly be this s**t for the whole match.

The injuries were the cruelest blow.

If Lovern's injury is as bad as it looks Katrina may have to give MoPo the money to g o& get another centre back.

Jack Cork, fantastic player

Gutted.

Poyet is a c**t.

Reduced to staggering over the finish line again, methinks. Awful anti-climax to the season considering our start.

Hope we don't stagger over the line. Shame we did not get the emphatic win as it would have lifted everyone and shut the press up.

Never ever straightforward supporting Saints is it ?

When Johnson got his second goal the momentum was with Sunderland and they had lots of time to come up at us. Saints of old would have lost, we held on and got a draw. That's why I think it's a good result - we took a point - just my opinion, sorry it dffers from yours.

Feel pretty sick about that one, how the hell we conspired to let Sunderland back in after battering them senseless for virtually the whole of the first half and the majority of the 2nd is beyond me. JRod and Ricky should take a look at themselves, they could have plundered 5 before half time and the game would have been over.

Throw in 2 nasty looking injuries to a couple of key players and it hasn't been the best. Also Gaston was fouled before the final foul on the edge of the box, he shouldn't have even got to the point of being injured as he was tugged beforehand, twice.

Our midfield and Jack Cork in particular was magnificent, the guy did not deserve to be on anything other that the winning team.

Boruc cocked up for the 2nd and where was the cover on the LHS?

As well as we play we only seem to have 1 gear, we need to know when to up the tempo and put teams to the sword when we have them on the backfoot.

Great game, but jesus we need to work on finishing on the training ground. The absolute spell of dominance we had meant nothing as we were pretty toothless infront of goal.

Lambert started well but faded again, starting to look poor.

Cork and J Rod looked v good apart from some of jays finishing

The injuries look v worrying though, another poor challenge from brown
