nta786 Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 @Alex_SFCMedia: 28: GOAL! #WBA U18s 0-1 #SaintsFCU18s (Josh Sims) He was good when we played against Pompey!
Olallana Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Who said that? First example... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?46026-Will-this-current-squad-propel-us-into-Europe&p=1750422#post1750422
Mr X Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Hope we don't pay the price for failing to finish them off, sunderland very much back in the game at 2-1!!!
NewYorkSaint Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 The difference in class is amazing. Now that we nearly have our full first team back, we truly look like a top-6 team.
S-Clarke Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Overriding emotion from that half has to be frustration........that game should be done, finished, zipped up and on the coach back to Southampton. The 2nd half shouldn't have to be a contest...but some how, we've let them back into it! The 1st half was a masterclass from us, but we really, really, really needed to make more of that, as were so much better than them at stages in that game. Tricky 2nd half coming up.
DT Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 JayRod really has to improve his finishing and decision-making. Good goal though. Cork MOTM so far
CylonKing Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Excellent 1st half performance, shame about conceding a goal as we really didn't deserve that at all. Fully expect us to comfortably see this one out, but as this is Saints, you just never know. Very enjoyable game to watch though
sfc1976 Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Next goal wins, shame as it should be 0-3 really.
melmacian_saint Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Outrageous that we did not do a Cardiff. Great finish from Lovren and Rodriguez but Jay should've scored at least another one, far too many good chances missed. If we start powerfully again and get a third goal then that's that.
Saint_Tony Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 It will be nothing short of embarassing if we don't take 3 points. Sunderland can't be as poor, expect to see Fletcher come on in 2nd half
Rasiak-9- Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 The Southampton Way- dominate most of our matches but we never finish them off... Again, seriously hope today isn't the case. We need a more ruthless streak. We look quietly confident, but you get the impression we need a bit more of an arrogance about us. We still play like a confident underdog rather than a cock-out, swaggering champion. Ready not just to win, but to beat the opponent. Fergie's United were probably the best example of a team that knew how to assert themselves this way, without ever slipping into complacency. Teams would go to Old Trafford, go a goal or two down and be desperate to get off the pitch and for it all to be over. We're not deadly yet. The JRod chance at 1-0 summed that up.
Batman Posted 18 January, 2014 Author Posted 18 January, 2014 both lambert and jay missed very easy chances should have scored 3
austsaint Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 One goal margin flattering to the Mackems - how good have our midfield been? Would consider Clyne on for Chambers.
Saint Charlie Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Got to win. More goals there for us. Need to stop them having any long spells of possession or pressure. Nics reminder of the quality we have though.
Bewildered Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 How is Jozy Altidore still starting matches for them? Absolutely terrible player.
Saint Billy Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Maybe me but I am not seeing Lambert involved in goal celebrations!
Viking Warrior Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 I don't think Rickies was easy . The ball was running away from him it was good to get the shot in the follow up player should have been quicker
mafiboy27 Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Can't believe Sunderland has scored in this. We've outplayed them :-)
Batman Posted 18 January, 2014 Author Posted 18 January, 2014 I don't think Rickies was easy . The ball was running away from him it was good to get the shot in the follow up player should have been quicker come on, for a top prem striker, he has to work the keeper from there
Pastor Patrón Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 If I'm picky Lambert and Chambers haven't been great, but other then that we've been outstanding
Viking Warrior Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Saint billy stop looking for the negatives . Did you see the defence celebrating with the forwards no If
JackFrost Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 You are one of the worst trolls on this site. THE definition of irony.
saintbob40 Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 No Osvaldo, Ramirez or Wanyama. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
S-Clarke Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 No Osvaldo, Ramirez or Wanyama. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Suspended, on the bench, and injured. What's your point?
ericb Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 No Osvaldo, Ramirez or Wanyama. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Yeah i mean it must be a conspiracy, it's not like Osvaldo is banned from the Newcastle game, Wanyama is injured and Rameriz is on the bench. Jesus some of our fans are dins.
S-Clarke Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Got a feeling this will be a bit of a backs to the wall 2nd half if we don't get an early 3rd goal, which is a bit of a travesty given how good we've been.
Viking Warrior Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Normal service has resumed on the this saints web .should there not be a thread t lets have ago at a player thread . Personally the whole team are playing well including SRL who is playing the perfect target man role today
Saint Billy Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Saint billy stop looking for the negatives . Did you see the defence celebrating with the forwards no If Not looking for negatives, just an observation, RL not looking happy.
Batman Posted 18 January, 2014 Author Posted 18 January, 2014 Normal service has resumed on the this saints web .should there not be a thread t lets have ago at a player thread . Personally the whole team are playing well including SRL who is playing the perfect target man role today no one is having a go, just stating a fact that striker wishing to go to brazil should work the keeper from 10 yards out im sure he agrees
S-Clarke Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Would agree that Lambert looks a little subdued today, but still playing well enough.
suewhistle Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 In a local pub in a village near Portsmouth and I think it's a 4 pint job.. Compliments for the first goal from a couple of pompey fans who went off to their match. No idea who they're playing.. Good football but id prefer a 2 goal margin. Early on in the game I had a moment of panic when I thought I should be at st marys: we looked like the home team and Sunderland come for a point...
Glasgow_Saint Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 A couple more from Jay would help my fantasy football points Lallana assists too please
Viking Warrior Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Well he's smiling with Adam and the ref
Mr X Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Maybe me but I am not seeing Lambert involved in goal celebrations! Allegedly the club have accepted the 7 million bid from west him and ricky wants to talk to them! could be just paper talk though
Rasiak-9- Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Would agree that Lambert looks a little subdued today, but still playing well enough. Hm. There's always a bittersweet twinge of "yay we scored but why do those never fall for me?" if you're a striker going through a goal drought. Saints looking very shakey at the moment. So much riding on the next goal and Sunderland very obviously feel like they're playing on a complete freeroll, whilst we're playing to win something that we know should have been ours anyway.
DuncanRG Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Shaw should have been looking for a pass there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 18 January, 2014 Author Posted 18 January, 2014 they are going to make a fight of this as you would expect
adrian lord Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 We just need to ride out the next 15 mins and not concede and demoralise thrm
DuncanRG Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Could it be that we're using Clyne as an impact sub? Big boost to our pace going forward if he comes on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
