Saint-Armstrong Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/16/ca-katharina-liebherrs-ascent-to-the-southampton-helm/ After a turbulent 48 hours at Southampton Football Club, I was told by my editor that I was needed to provide a piece on everything that's happened lately (not much, eh ), and take the story back to the start, when Markus took over in 2009. I've summarised, best as I can... 1 - The Liebherr Era - (2009-present) 2 - Cortese's impact on the club 3 - The club's progression 4 - Katharina Liebherr's arrival 5 - The potential future of the club I hope you find the read enjoyable and informative. It is a long one, but I put a fair bit of time into this one. Hope I've summarised it and not left anything glaringly obvious out. Think I've given a fair appraisal and am quite pleased with the piece, personally. SA
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 I think you have treated a tricky subject very well and anyone reading your work will end up having a pretty accurate picture. Well done, you have outperformed many national journos in my opinion.
Batman Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 All national journos have simply forgot about the £33m equity thing. As did I to be fair
lifeintheslowlane Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Excellent...thank you for taking calm and factual viewpoint.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Nice work Connor. My offer still stands btw. Happy to pay for your subscription for SWF
tomf05 Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Well researched, balanced and written. Good man!
Saint-Armstrong Posted 16 January, 2014 Author Posted 16 January, 2014 5/10 wouldn't recommend. Thought it might be a bit too positive and balanced for your liking!
Cascadia Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 I'm not used to reading so many facts in an article about our club, nice work.
Hockey_saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Pretty good...Maybe work on the English though.

Pedro Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Good work, better than anything SISU or other "spokesmen" could come up with.
Polaroid Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Good stuff. Needs a little proof-reading for repeated words (I'm being a bit picky), but really nicely done.
BlakeySFC Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Thought it might be a bit too positive and balanced for your liking! I was only being facetious. To be brutally honest I can't be bothered to read it.
Wes Tender Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 An excellent read, Connor, with a good summary of the historic timeline right up to the current situation.
Saint86 Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 All national journos have simply forgot about the £33m equity thing. As did I to be fair Football manager didn't....
Convict Colony Posted 17 January, 2014 Posted 17 January, 2014 Good read, have to say though that the opening line made me chuckle. "It was confirmed on Wednesday night that the daughter of the late Markus Liebherr would assume the position"
a1ex2001 Posted 17 January, 2014 Posted 17 January, 2014 A much more balanced appraisal than much of what the main stream press have written, your editor needs to do his job though and apply the fine polish to bring your writing fully up to publishing standards.
nta786 Posted 17 January, 2014 Posted 17 January, 2014 Good read, have to say though that the opening line made me chuckle. "It was confirmed on Wednesday night that the daughter of the late Markus Liebherr would assume the position" Dirty Mind!
