Cabrone Posted 16 January, 2014 Share Posted 16 January, 2014 I think alot of people just need to take a step back and enjoy the game on Saturday with the same squad of players that we had for the last game Me too, been a great season so far, no players have left, manager still in place and fingers crossed for an exciting cup run to come. After so many years of struggle it's all good in SFC land.

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 16 January, 2014 Share Posted 16 January, 2014 Not at all He means that the same set of players will be playing against Sunderland as against WBA...not that it will be anyone's last game! That is good to hear. I know all good things come to an end at some point but I'd be absolutely gutted if players left before KL had a chance to make her changes and / or the club was sold (I still feel that is going to happen personally). If the current group stick together until the end of the season I think that is fair for everyone. But I appreciate football isn't always a fair game! Viking Warrior Posted 16 January, 2014 Share Posted 16 January, 2014 There are some excellent members on this forum . You just need to detect the positive messages that have been given and not the irrational messages that have been posted also ignore those troll type posters . I think the future is bright and that wheels are firmly back on the bus . There might be the odd bump ahead but that may have happened if NC was still in situ

Viking Warrior Posted 16 January, 2014 Share Posted 16 January, 2014 Good article on the saints sfc trousers . It clarifies a lot of the misinterpretation of what was said at the press conference and the subsequent misquoting by the newspapers tonight . Also the gallery pictures are interesting . All the players looking very happy and no dropped heads . Here are the talking points: http://t.co/jN8UARYSci #saintsfc http://t.co/PoM7U0CMhr @SouthamptonFC: Mauricio Pochettino: "There's a commitment and loyalty to the staff, to the people that run this club and to the supporters." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "My contract, at the end of the day, is with Southampton. I intend to see out my contract with this company." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "It's only logical that when people change, things change. It's only normal that that change is going to happen." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "It's a great responsibility to be manager at this club. When you sign a contract it's not just signing a piece of paper." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "It's about your commitment and your responsibility to the staff, to the players, to the fans - to the Club as a whole." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "We need to have time to assimilate everything that has happened - not just us but the players as well, and the fans." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "We just need to respond as well as we can. More than anything, we need tranquility." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "We need to be calm and try to be as fully focused as we can - as always - to get a positive result on Saturday." #saintsfc Personally think he'll be gone by the first game of next season. Hope he waits until the summer though.
dannysfc Posted 16 January, 2014 Share Posted 16 January, 2014 I am really Pleased that he's staying at Saints for hopefully till at least after the Man Utd game in May and that hopefully we can have a stress free January and maybe bring a few players in or something rather than Sell as I think the stability is key too as well tbh and that we can build for the Future and Win games starting with Sunderland on Sat which would be Great but we'l see what happens! Viking Warrior Posted 16 January, 2014 Share Posted 16 January, 2014 Saint garret. If you post just sound bites then you get a distorted view . Having read the saints official site stuff I get a different view to what is being said . The issue about him only being here till the end if the season and then he is off is not true . I'm not sure I can post this . But he said the following “First, it’s only normal that we finish the season and then we’ll see next season what happens. That’s only normal. It’s clear that at the end of the season we will assess the situation at the Club.” Slightly different context to one liners above . You might be right about him leaving at the end of the season . But I read it differently and if we maintain our upwards progression I'm sure he will sign an extension to his contract

max_saints Posted 17 January, 2014 Share Posted 17 January, 2014 does anyone feel the loyalty poch has for NC is unreciprocated? this is a man who would leave if NC left yet NC didn't bother telling him that he was going to resign or had resigned? also all the talk about not leaving in the middle of the project from poch yet NC, the man who sold the vision for the project, did exactly that in the face of obstacles. something tells me that this is not the last we'll see of NC and the only reason why poch is staying is cos NC has assured him he'll be back with billionaire backing to buy over the club. or I'm just thinking too much. This is the way I see it too. I get the impression that the club is up for sale with NC at the head of a potential take over. KL may see this as a conflict of interests and possibly expressed this to NC and wanted to be involved to make sure that it was all above board, hence the bad feeling from at least one of them. It is her company so has the right to do this. With this assumption it would seem sensible for her to install a CEO to maximise her return and receive the highest price rather than just taking NCs word for what the club is worth. I think NC will be back with substantial backing. This is my opinion at least. We'll see what happens when the dust settles I suppose

There when Franny scored Posted 17 January, 2014 Share Posted 17 January, 2014 Good point. If he is part of a takeover bid it will probably take some time. Would be interesting to see if he has cut all ties with the area altogether. If he genuinely believes it is probably he will come back he might retain a property. If the rumours about Sunseeker prove to be correct maybe he will just park his yacht in Ocean Village as most of the players seem to live there in any case! Did MOPO really only spend 5 minutes with KL I don't think so I don't think so either, since he arrived to meet her at 2:00 and the 3:00 presser was delayed as he wasn't ready. The Mirror's piece is amazingly warped and seeking to justify their totally wrong take on things the day before. After a meeting with KL Poch says players won't be sold. This becomes effectively "I've told KL I'll resign if she sells players" Of course, NC could be happy to see the club destabilised for now, reduced price, unrest with KL .... SaintRichmond Posted 17 January, 2014 Share Posted 17 January, 2014 Whilst I am very pleased that Pochettino is staying at least til the end of the season, there are a few things that don't sit right IMHO 1 Says he had no prior knowledge of Cortese’s departure ..... sorry, don't buy it 2 No buying in this window........... now we know why 3 The recent body language of certain players, especially Lambert, has been very obvious that something has been brewing for a while 4 Only 5 mins with Katherina Leibher where she gave him backing ....... that's the strangest one of the lot. Surely one would have thought that, having lost her CEO, Katherina Leibherr would have wanted a lengthy heart to heart with Pochettino, prior to his Press Conference .... 5 minute ? Yer 'avin' a laugh 5 He then stated that only players thar HE wants to leave, will leave ..... How could he be certain ? bit of a rash thing to say, if the "5 mins with KL" is factual. Such a decision as that would have only come from in - depth discussions surely. Pochettino has not the Authority to say it off his own bat There are obviosly many things that the likes of myself will never be privvy to, but, as many have said, the whole Business is shrouded in Mystery and Intrigue Here's to Tomorrow....
