I'm on my phone

Please write out what he said

And why are we not being told this on the local radio/media?

Says very little, working on olympics stuff will join Saints board, looking forward to it bla bla bla

Phone hasnt been ringing so and no offers for ice hockey / NFL so Saints offer option

Doesnt mention anything longterm, short term or other

Basically says very little other than he will join board

Not sure why MLG would draw this out as his biggest evidence?

Really? Have you never read his posts before? The poor lad can find his own "evidence" in even the most flippant of throw away comments. We're getting a 50K stadium, don't you know?

The jist of my point is Liebherr has persuaded Krueger to agree to come to us, why would she bother if she intended to sell the club? Krueger sounds genuinely excited by the challenge of helping Saints and working with Liebherr.

We've had the "she's selling the club" rumours since her father died 2010. Its now 2014 and it hasn't happened!

So, naff all then

Could be many reasons why he came. To help a sale or money or a way in to the prem???

Kruger is so "genuinely excited" to get involved with Saints that he's buggering off to the Winter Olympics first, and (by his own admission) only taking this job as he had no other offers as a head coach from ice hockey.

So what? He has a prior arrangement to be in Russia until the end of February.

The guy is out of work and nobody is asking his to get involved in his sport

I'm not sure whether or not we are for sale, or not. No idea, so not going to speculate. I agree the statements have been vague, and open to interpretation.

Personally don't thing there is much evidence either way.

Genuine question to people, if the same players left in Jan, under the same circumstances they did but Cortese hadn't gone (yes I agree this may not/probably wouldn't have happened) would it be seen as a sign the club is for sale?

I wouldn't see it that way. Apart from Osvaldo, they are players we expected to leave the club for a while. And whilst unfortunate, it's understandable why he has gone.

We may very well be up for sale, but I don't think the players that have left are a sign of that.

Interviewer: Before I let you go I understand that there's another opportunity that's on the horizon for you in the sport of football, European football, we call it soccer....What's going on with Southampton? What can you tell us? What are you going to be doing with this club?

Krueger: They've been approaching me for a while now in a leadership function. The owner is a lady who inherited the team from her father - he died a few years ago and she's living in Switzerland - somebody I've known a while and she's been trying to get me to go on the board of directors of the British premier league team. It's the number one sports league in the world and we are in 9th place at the moment. I will focus 100% on the olympic games but after the olympic games I will be going to Southampton to take on my role on the board and my final job description or where I'm exactly going to be involved is not clear - she wants me to come and work on leadership. We've got 700 employees involved in the organisation at different levels and we have one of the greatest football academies in the world and it's one of the great English premier league teams because it tries to grow from within. Our players...over half of them are English and the academy produces these players whereas most of the English premier league teams are built out of foreigners - we do have foreigners on the team but overall it'll be exciting. I always look for growth, I always look for challenges and it might sound a little bit strange for me to be involved but its all about sports. My job won't be football specific - I will be more on a higher level, working together with the owner, very close on the board which will have 4 people on it and I look forward to the challenge after the olympics.

Interviewer: So you're not going to be playing midfielder or striker or anything like that?

Krueger: (laughs) No, no, no.... I was with the coach the last few days and I said: "You know what? I've been coaching 25 years and especially my most recent experience I know exactly what you need for support and I know exactly what you don't need for support" and we had a chuckle about it... and he's from Argentina, a really strong character, and whether the owner or whether the coach are really on the same wavelength...and I just spent 3 days there and finally made the decision today to step into that world so its an adventure that I'm looking forward to.

Trousers: That's about it.

Lowering the debt to sell, have the minimum amount of players required to retain Premiership status and then sell as a Premiership club, simple but effective.

This has no effect on the purchase price when the seller themselves is solvent, the purchase price will be calculated on the basis that there's no debt and then any debt remaining in the club will just reduce the price.

Being kept yet again in the dark will always lead to rumour. That letter said everything yet nothing.

Thats my point, it didn't say or allude that we are or are not for sale so for people to draw definitive cinclusions based on it is ridiculous. It can be taken that we will be for sale as much as it can be taken that we are not.

We'll have to wait until the end of the season before we really have any clue as to what direction Kat wants to take.

Squad is not the business so that can not be taken into account. Approx £100-25 Million.

 Of course it does. If you can buy a squad and sell a player for £12m the next day then it is worth more than the same club who doesn't have that player.

Are you talking about some specific accounting basis for financial statement preparation or tax purposes? Because I can assure you when it comes to determining the economic value of a football club, which is what a sale price will be based on, they very much will be taken into account.

£80 million does look too low! £100m would be my guess

Think thats what Fernandes paid for QPR

QPR and Fulham are much smaller clubs than us!

We are now worth 150m plus don't kid your self that we are worth less that Fulham !

Our nearest rival in the prem is about 75 miles away !!!

No other premiership club can boast such a distance to their competitors except maybe Norwich .........

We have a great team and fan base plus infrastructure we are worth more than Fulham.....

By the way QPR must show a loss of 100m and their crappy ground can't be worth much so who would want them ?

Don't think you can count the building value on the ground as an assett either as plainly without a pitch you have nowhere to play!!!!!!!!!

The tv income alone now is £95m plus ????

And someone values us at £80m - do me a favour!!!!!!!!!!!!

The potential profit is huge.

Larger companies are now sold also on potential too . Soooo wake up , this business is worth a lot of money.....

Business sense tells us now is the time to cash in - however to see the potential reach it's conclusion might be attractive to the owner so we never know..,,,,,…

Can't be bothered to read all the other stuff, so this may have been said already. Chap I know with connections at the club told me this Krueger guy has been around since last year and the idea was that he would work alongside Cortese, but the latter did not like that and hence the resignation. The idea was that this guy was brought in to keep an eye on the corporate running of the club on behalf of KL - issues have already been uncovered. Whether or not this was intended to be a prelude for the club being sold is unclear - gut instinct says it does have the feel of a trimming operation prior to sale - however it was Cortese keeping those players like Sharp here as he would not loan/sell unless on his terms.

Yup, hence the major shifting in recent days... far more flexible with other clubs and what they want to pay now, as we are with players who want to go...

surely his arrival means that KL is more committed to the clubs upward curve not a man in a suit trying to uplift the clubs value. As for the trimming of the squad, were the players that have gone part of the backbone of the team,or even part of the first team squad?

It seems perfect sense to offload those outer fringe players and the costs of having them kicking their heels here. Summer will tell us how committed KL is, if we dont buy and start selling the best players then the dream is over.

Personally i would rather us make space for Gallagher to get games than have Billy Sharp at the club, for Fox to go to give space for Chambers etc etc

The nations parents with the best young kids will be looking to let Saints have their kids rather than the Chelseas who never let their young players develop in the PL.
