Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 but how much? Markus paid 15m for us in July 2009 - but what is our value now? £150m?
JxgrSaint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Fulham sold for £150m, but then a majority of that price is a couple of acres of riverside London real estate. Media reports all seem to value at £100m

notnowcato Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 How much is that bit of land the club own out Eastleigh way? Of course, it would be worth a lot more with planning consent. Marcus bought the club for £15m... assuming that included the Eastleigh land, I think it's safe to assume that land is worth less than £15m.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Author Posted 16 January, 2014 why a separate thread for this? which existing thread should we dicuss the sale and value of our great club?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Author Posted 16 January, 2014 there are loads running about the situation, ok Nick so how much do you think we are worth?
Hatch Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 my boss tried to buy QPR a few years ago. I'll ask him if he is interested in football clubs still. He can make me 1st team manager.
SO16_Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Land - £25M Squad - £75M Other - £5M Reckon we would go for OIRO £100M - making a tidy £75M profit before the usual expenses and taxes. Not bad for 5 years work
Saint Charlie Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Squad is easily worth 100m, probs more like 125-150.
ottery st mary Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 It would appear my offer of 200 million has been knocked back:rolleyes:
John Boy Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Where are the Covering details and prospectus available from to back up the thread title................................. Anyone got a link?
SO16_Saint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Squad is easily worth 100m, probs more like 125-150. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/southampton-fc/kader/verein_180.html - I reckon the following: Osvaldo - £13M Ramirez - £8M Lambert - £6M Lallana - £10M Lovren - £10M Wanyama - £8M Schneiderlin - £8M JRod - £6M Shaw - £20M JWP - £5M Clyne - £8M Boruc - £3M Roughly £105M for the 'main' players
SaintRichard Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Didn't Marcus pay off the stadium debt as well, which I think was about £60 million ?
Window Cleaner Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 (edited) Didn't Marcus pay off the stadium debt as well, which I think was about £60 million ? don't think so, think we had to give Aviva a further 4 million or so under certain conditions...which we did a couple of years back. Stadium debt was never 60 million anyway. Some say that this is fairly accurate http://swissramble.blogspot.fr/2012/01/southampton-saints-alive.html Edited 16 January, 2014 by Window Cleaner
alehouseboys Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Marcus bought the club for £15m... assuming that included the Eastleigh land, I think it's safe to assume that land is worth less than £15m. With that £15m he also got a £30-40m stadium, the playing squad and Staplewood, so it's probably quite hard to put a current price on a potentially very lucrative piece of land they call Jacksons Farm.

Shroppie Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 Rarely have I read such complete and utter b0ll0ks. But then it is the Express. Is that where NC's PR machine are planting stories now? My theory that he's trying to push the price down is looking possible, but £80m? You're avin a larf. Even Fulham were £150m
Scallysaint Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 I think we will be sold and have a hunch Mr Cortese is working for the buyers. He will be th Chairmen again

Even Fulham were £150m £80 million does look too low! £100m would be my guess Think thats what Fernandes paid for QPR

My theory that he's trying to push the price down is looking possible, but £80m? You're avin a larf. Even Fulham were £150m Agreed. They talk about a reduction from a valuation of £100m to £80m as a 'loss' of £30m. In fact, both figures are probably a profit on the total investment. They imply that this reduction is due to Cortese leaving, which raises suspicions about the origins of the story.

Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 18 January, 2014 Posted 18 January, 2014 dont forget to factor in tv revenue, even if relegated theres 40 odd million of parachutte payments over 4 years...
Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 January, 2014 Author Posted 31 January, 2014 Any signs or words yet to suggest we are not FOR SALE?
Matthew Le God Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Any signs or words yet to suggest we are not FOR SALE? Any signs that we are? Katharina Liebherr has been the owner since 2010 and in that time we've seen huge investment in the infrastructure at training ground/academy/stadium and the team.
S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Could go either way to be honest, no one really knows. Nothing has happened in the last month to suggest either way, so it's pretty much stalemate. The summer will answer all we need to know, we'll just carry on as we are until then. - As was always the plan.

Katharina Liebherr has been the owner since 2010 and in that time we've seen huge investment in the infrastructure at training ground/academy/stadium and the team. Didnt commit in open letter Hasnt committed in press No players signed Wage bill significantly reduced Cortese leaving Mopo not committing beyond summer All signs so far point to a pending sale?
Barry Sanchez Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Squad is not the business so that can not be taken into account. Approx £100-25 Million.

Katharina Liebherr has been the owner since 2010 and in that time we've seen huge investment in the infrastructure at training ground/academy/stadium and the team. What huge investment has there been in the stadium? Certainly not the level you were expecting http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?37346-St-Mary-s-What-we-might-expect-to-see-happen-(and-possibly-announced-soon)#.UuwfPn8gGSM How are the "huge plans" coming on? Is it soon yet?

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Squad is not the business so that can not be taken into account. Approx £100-25 Million. How do you make it through life without seriously injuring yourself on a regular occurrence. Do a businesses assets now not contribute to their value? Shall we exclude the stadium, training ground etc in the value?

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 No you would be buying the club not the players. So the players wouldn't come with the club?
Turkish Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 No you would be buying the club not the players. I sense a business lesson from a 24 yr old with a shed load of debt is appearing over the horizon, the last one was genius.
The Kraken Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 So the players wouldn't come with the club? Seems like a bit of a rum deal.
Barry Sanchez Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 How do you determine their value? I presume you know this? Or do you blindly insult?
Tamesaint Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Is this the same Express that has been spouting forth that we will have the hardest coldest Winter since the Ice Age every other week when we had the heat wave in July! Don't knock the Express. It emloys Bazza and Glasgow as its weather correspondents.

How do you determine their value? I presume you know this? Or do you blindly insult? I'm not saying that you would individually go round the squad and put value x on each player, and then add that on to any figure for the club. Just seems daft that multi-million pound assets of the club/business would have no impact on it's value.
Turkish Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Seems like a bit of a rum deal. We be worth more if our captain Morgan.
Matthew Le God Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Ralf Krueger's interview on Canadian radio suggests Liebherr has long term plans for the club.
Batman Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 Ralf Krueger's interview on Canadian radio suggests Liebherr has long term plans for the club. Tell us what is said Why is this not being told to radio solent?

The Kraken Posted 31 January, 2014 Posted 31 January, 2014 We be worth more if our captain Morgan. I've got nothing other than making a poor pun of Kraken Rum
