RIP Trigger

Del: We had Denzil in goal, we had Monkey Harris at right-back, we had...we had camaraderie.

Trigger: Was that the Italian boy

I like Only Fools, I like Vicar Of Dibley. Owen Newitt was as good a character as Trigger.

Sad news, he was so close to 70 too. RIP.

The one I remember is when Trigger's telling that story about a woman he worked with asking him "Fancy spending a weekend at this hotel?". He then reveals that he thought the weekend went great but she didn't want to see him ever again after it.

When Del asks him why he says "Later I heard through friends, that she'd wanted to go with me"

Great clips, Turks - a reminder of just how good he was. Nobody else could have played Trigger so well. He was excellent in many other roles, and very varied ones at that, but to so many of us he'll always be remembered as Trig. RIP RLP.

My missus (American) just loved him in the vicar of Dibley, and was quite upset when I told her about his death. I showed her some youtube clips featuring Trigger, and she absolutely got it straight away, which is not that easy with Americans and such localised comedy as Only Fools and Horses. She was immediately as taken with the Trigger character as she was with his Dibley character.

I see an Only Fools and Horses DVD collection in next years Xmas stocking. Thanks Trigger!!! You will be missed.
