i agree and its ruining this forum, its the same old crap posted week after week ,rehashing the same old lines and far fetched storys and twisting facts to suit their agenda.

its amazing we even have some sad posters wanting us to lose  .

Well, I'm afraid that under certain circumstances you could add me to that list. When we were 3 goals down against Burnley in under 11 minutes, I found myself hoping that we might end the match losing by 10. You bet I'm sad when I reflect on how far we've fallen in a relatively short time.

We lost the match anyway, but I reasoned that a massive defeat like that would conceivably have forced some action in response. Either it would have meant that the departure of Poortvliet was hastened as there has been little evidence so far that he is up to it, nice guy that he is, or there would have been growing unrest against the person who instigated the bizarre experiment. Either way, the end would have justified the means IMO.

Instead, we just had yet another example of our team not being capable of playing decent football for 90 minutes and the comeback even had some clowns saying that we should have won.

To be fair Solent Stars, both sides - Stanley et al and Sundance et al are equally guilty. It's like British newspapers, I don't understand why the likes of the Daily Mail has to be the propaganda arm for a particular political party and only trot out the official line. Why not praise when praise is due and criticise when poor decisions are made and sloppy Government ensues?

Likewise, I have praised Lowe in the past for appointing Jones, Hoddle and WGS and for building the stadium to a good budget and schedule. Lowe recieved a lot of praise in the national media at that time too. However, his management appointments (I still say he was unfortunate with Burley) since WGS have been unacceptably poor and he lost a lot of trust after the PR companies involvement in S4E was revealed using club money. I have to say I backed Rupert until that point - I've never been an Askham fan though - but I lost major confidence in him after that and also the wasted first parachute payment season.

What he meant was - he is our only option.

When someone else can come up with the cash and ideas, I'm all ears.

And that is the point exactly. Until someone with oneyputs in a serious bid to buy the club we have no other option.

So all these lowe out comments are quite frankly worthless untill that day. Or have i missed a viable alternative? If I have i aplogise but please enlighten me. FFS

Your username is ironic - you could have photocopied that response from Solent Stars and one or two other posters. We have only won sporadic games this season you ejit, look at the league table and we're going to be selling players of any value in January, use Google to see that. Head.out.of.sand.

Then again, you could well be another PR plant.

Andrew Cowen as Chairman? Doesn't involve a takeover but does remove a divisive figure. Cowen is a good option IMO.

Unfortunately Lowe, Barclays and the club are currently interlocked into a dance of death. How can they be extricated? Heavens knows. The only realistic hope is that Lowe rethinks his strategy of selling our best hopes of survival and is able to persuade the bank of the wisdom of sticking with our best players, including those out on loan, until the END OF THE SEASON. Survival in this division is the priority and the only way to stave off administration which will be inevitable imo if we are relegated.

There seems to be no alternative to Lowe at THIS moment - and how it hurts to say this.

So pragmatically it would be more productive for everyone to mount a serious, powerful campaign aimed at Lowe for the coach to be allowed to use ALL of the resources we own. Saga, Rasiak, John. Each capable of scoring ten goals between now and the end of the season! How they have been missed! Even one of them could make the difference.

And we MUST keep Surman, Lallana, Cork, Rasiak and Schneiderlin. We do own the basis of a very decent CCC side.

The stupidity must stop!

It is time Lowe stood up to the bank and rethinks his failed strategy, recalls our experienced pros and rebuilds the team together with the best of our younger players.

Exactly right, and until Lowe tells us that he is retiring, there is no need to talk about a predecessor.

Lowe is the ONLY man for the job. We have seen Saints go from strength to strength this season and we're so far better off than we were when he wasn't here.

If Lowe had been in charge 2 years ago, we wouldn't have spent any money and got the youth team in sooner. JP would've been our manager instead of GB and we wouldn't have had to concern ourselves with the SFA buying him out of his contract, because Lowe would've got him to pay for his own compensation package.

Nobody has done a better job than Lowe at any other football club around the world, and his pioneering attitude makes him unique amongst men.

He can't be a PR plant, Saint1977. You only have to look back at what his 19 posts said to realise that no PR firm would pay good money for that sort of imput; unless of course they were under a remit from the board to darken the image of the posters on here as a load of neanderthals. ;)

The priority must be to bring back our talented pros currently out on loan, and to rebuild the first team with the best of the players that we own - a proper mix of youth and experience. Sending our best strikers out on loan has been a complete disaster. ringing them back will stretch our finances even further but it has to be done. If Billy Davis for example were to take over the squad we wouldn't be able to afford them. Davis would not have a decent squad to work with. We currently can't afford the best players we already have AND Davis. (Not that I wouldn't object to him kicking arses here right now.)

Andrew Cowen would be a more palatable option in the short-term if we can't shift the major shareholders. He knows the club, can ably represent the Askham/Lowe proxy but won't interfere to the same extent as Rupert and Rupert can then focus on sorting out WH Ireland. Rupert is just too divisive and the fanbase will only divide further. I mean look at some of the posts on here, I even posted above to say "let's not call everything we see as pro or anti-Lowe, we can praise or criticise something on the same thread without being a hyprocrite" and someone/PR plant even has a pop at that! Doesn't give the impression of a healthy club. Debate is healthy but the sheer unpleasantness and divisiveness and constant unitary statements reek of a dying organisation.

Judging by the standard of some of the plants Rupert used in 2006, his taste in media companies hasn't improved! I'm not a shareholder but I'd love to see someone ask Rupert directly at the AGM coming up whether he's using club funds on this sort of nonsense again.

Lowes a bit of a ****, but I'm much more interested in the football than the politics that has strangled the club over the last couple of years. There is sod all we can do about it other than stay away, but I want to watch my team so that isn't an option.

If only the stayaways were as comitted as Sad Old Git Lowe would be out within a fortnight.:smt023

You´ve long been a member of Ruperts rat pack so cut the sanctimonious drivel.

I have frequently wondered why Lowe didnt get Cowen to take the hot seat, take an anonymous seat on the board himself, and drive things behind the scenes. This would clearly have been less divisive.

Conclusion ? The bastard must thrive on conflict and division - it feeds his ego. It cannot be ignorance - even he cant be that stupid.

Cowen was asked but said he did not feel up to the football side of the business -dealing with FA, other clubs, agents and transfer etc I believe.

How honest of him!!!!!!!

Then again, he was joint MD of the Club last time around, pulling in over #300,000 a year at one point.

That's not bad for someone who now say they're not up for the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alps, it's more than that. His upbringing and schooling really do make him a pompous ass. He genuinely believes he is the right man for the job, and that those who do not see it will either come around or don't get it. It's a defiant self-belief that would actually serve our players well!!!!! It's just a bit misplaced in a bloke who is supposed to lead a variety of people including us!
