Mr X Posted 15 January, 2014 Share Posted 15 January, 2014 As Katharina is technically our owner she very much has a say over our future. The press (rightly or wrongly) reports that Katharina has no interest in football & may move the club onto someone that does! Allegedly Cortese does not get on with her and she is too involved with decision making behind the scenes & that is the reason for his alleged resignation. How much do we know about Katharina? Saint-Armstrong Posted 15 January, 2014 Share Posted 15 January, 2014 She's Markus' daughter. That's it. There is nothing on her online. No bios, no photos - nada. She was at the stadium at the start of this season, and received a tour. That's all I know. Never seen her myself.

If this is all true, why is she so involved with decision-making if she is not interested in the club, unless its a pure money issue and there is some lack of trust or lack of willingness relating to its use ? Roo1976 Posted 15 January, 2014 Share Posted 15 January, 2014 so with all this going on anyone worried that the club may end up being sold to some future owner such as Cardiff and Hull city have ?the thought of playing in blue would scare the s**t out of me and countless others too and what if there was a name change ................be careful what we hope for that's all i say whats your opinion? Gambol2K9 Posted 15 January, 2014 Share Posted 15 January, 2014 This doesn't add up to me. I always had the feeling that Cortese saw Katharina as an irritant and wanted her to sell the club as he'd be able to put a consortium together to buy. Nolan Posted 15 January, 2014 Share Posted 15 January, 2014 from this mornings Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2539563/Nicola-Cortese-close-quitting-Southampton-bust-owner-Katharina-Liebharr.html Liebherr has no interest in football, but was left the club as part of her father’s estate and she has rejected a number of advances to sell the club. Viking Saint Posted 15 January, 2014 Share Posted 15 January, 2014 A club chairman who I know told me that it's been common knowledge amongst the 'chairmen fraternity' that the club has actually been up for sale for some time but no one has yet met the valuation.....
