Cortese to go?

Bewildered

Seems remarkably similar to the situation during the summer now.

Guess it's just a case of wait and see again.

Yes it does. But we can't have this every time a disagreement happens. In the summer there might have been some brinkmanship involved, but I'm not sure you can do that twice, we aren't in the playground.

Usually prepare at the training ground though surely?

Not always. They could be at SMS for any number of reasons but as there is all this speculation then they can't possibly be any other explanation other than that they are going for a meeting with NC about his impending resignation.....

Just listening to this TalkSport station as people said we are the hot topic and my god... this DJ who is on now.. Adrian? Basically he's begging people to call up AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE!! have a natter with him, offer some views AND THEN he will dismiss everything the caller has just said and spout his own total waffle.

Two questions:

a) why is this moron employed and

b) what possess people to call in and be waffled at AND CHARGED for the privilege.

I don't get it.

Inane to say the absolute least.

Joe Batchelor @Joe_Batchelor

Would guess that Pochettino and staff are currently in meeting with Cortese to decide future.

Who is this guy? I'd be willing to bet that he has absolutely nothing to base that on...no doubt this guys ramblings will be reported as 'fact' by SSN in the next few minutes.

Honestly, no wonder there is a sense of hysteria around the place every time there is a negative news report...

They were all (bar NC) spotted arriving at Staplewood about an hour ago by some lads 'staked out' there. Guess they have gone from there to SMS to meet NC.

Almost as bad as that Alex Crook guy. What a poor standard of journalism there is about nowadays! "I assume this" , "My source tells me that". Just report the facts chaps , we're all capable of having a guess!

BBC's Ben Smith says Christian Purslow, ex Liverpool Chief Exec is keen to replace Cortese....

His main contribution at Liverpool was negotiating the clubs sales I believe, a very brief tenure.

from wikipedia

A season ticket holder of Liverpool, he was appointed managing director in June 2009, with a priority to renegotiate the £350m loan the club had outstanding with RBS and to assume overall management of the club until a new permanent CEO could be appointed.[3][4] Three months into his tenure, a team headed by Purslow negotiated an £80 million 4 year shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered Bank.[5]

On 6 October 2010, Purslow voted in favour of the sale of the club from the unpopular then-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett to the NESV group. In response to this, Hicks tried to block the sale by removing Purslow and Ian Ayre from the board and installing his son, Mack, and his business associate Lori McCutcheon to the board. On 13 October 2010, at a hearing in the High Court in London, Mr Justice Floyd held that Hicks’ actions were unlawful and in breach of the agreement he had signed with RBS.[6] Floyd’s judgment allowed the sale to proceed and, on 15 October 2010, NESV finally completed its £300m takeover of Liverpool in a deal which drastically reduced the club’s debt to RBS.[7]

Having completed his brief by finding a buyer, Purslow stepped down on 20 October 2010 after NESV assumed control of the club.[8] He remained as a non-executive director and special adviser until February 2011.[9][10]

Following the sale Hicks and Gillett pursued legal action, however, settlement was reached in January 2013 with Hicks and Gillett withdrawing all allegations made against Purslow and fellow directors Broughton and Ayre

Lowe on talksport he can't help drop his name and what he did... Coaching structure, stadium, youth... Although pretty diplomatic and giving recognition to Cortese/Poch etc

To be fair. He is part of what we have now. And much of the bad before that, mind

I don't know why Cortese's throwing his toys out of his pram really- his 5 years are up. Presumably he has begged for time to find investors but he either has none, or he a Katerina disagree as to the value of the club.

"5 years are up" and holiday with the family, where they reminded him of the fact?
