Cortese to go?

Bewildered

Recommended Posts

I wonder if any of this has anything to do with City or anyone putting in a big bid for Shaw?

NC said no,KL said yes ??

I know its pure speculation, but how could KL have more involvement in the club ??

I would imagine we have had quite a few big bids over the last couple of seasons for players and NC has said feck off, maybe she wants to start recouping some of the cash they have laid out?

@paulbelvers: @danbsfc Cortese feels he should continue to run the club. Looks like Katharina Liebherr might fancy making a few decisions herself.

Sounds like he was allowed to run around acting like he owned the place for so long that he started to believe it.

Yeah but you can understand Corteses frustration if that's true. He's done nothing to justify being ousted from position as top dog.
There has been nothing to suggest that he would be "ousted". The further up the footballing world we go, the bigger £s are at play, understandable that KL might want some input to what happens, that is reasonable to me.

Didn't mean taken out completely, just that he wouldn't be top of the pyramid anymore.

And in any case, I can't even picture Cortese working under someone...

IF citeh bid £30 m for Shaw, the owner would be well within their rights to forcefully express an opinion on how Cortese should respond.

I would take the 30 million he's a great player but not worth that... then again maybe he is if we paid 12+ for the likes of Osvaldo & Gaston

He must have worked under people plenty throughout his career. Most people, even at the very top, have to work with other people from time to time.

Pochetinos Record isn't actually that great on paper

Played: 37

Won: 12

Drawn: 13

Lost: 12

Win Percentage 32%

But do statistics show the real story?

That would have been an 8th place finish in the Prem last year, seems pretty good to me.

I see SISA is still going strong then...

It would be “a crying shame” if Nicola Cortese leaves Saints.

That is the view of Mike O’Callaghan, the chairman of the Southampton Independent Supporters Association, on a day of hectic speculation surrounding the St Mary’s chairman.

You are not the first person that has taken that slant today, I was in a meeting this morning with the MD of a company that spend a good amount of money with the club in advertising and this was just one of his thoughts.

What story do you think it shows?

That is 49 points from 37 games.

In 2012/13, 49 points would have been enough for 8th place and he'd have a game in hand.

one thing is for sure, IF he does go and even if MP follows. at least we are in a very strong position compared to any time since 2005. virtually another year in the prem secured and the financial security that brings.

managers and chairmen come and go. we are all that stay.

hope he does not go as he is very good for saints. but if he does, onto another chapter in our pretty actioned packed lives in supporting the club

True and anyone who perhaps might buy the club will need a lot of cash anyway.

Sky reporter said Katharina wants to sell and that she and Cortese had clashed in the summer over the sale of Belgian winger Steve de Ridder to FC Utrecht.

Seems an odd one, that.

Understatement! Would love to have heard that conversation:

KL - Play him. He's good, I saw the YouTube posted on TSF

NC - Yo' ****ting me, woman?!
