shurlock Posted 25 January, 2014 Share Posted 25 January, 2014 (edited) I remember Steve Lamacq playing white label version of Columbia. It was a jaw dropping moment, I f***ing love that track. the album is good but not a patch on Dog Man Star. Columbia still feels the freshest thing on it not only because of its aggression but also because Noel's pedestrian guitar playing is submerged in the lava of the mix. Gas Panic manages a similar effect. Edited 25 January, 2014 by shurlock
Orange Posted 26 January, 2014 Share Posted 26 January, 2014 If you don't think Columbia's the best song on that album then you know nothing about music. Some good tunes in the rest but the lyrics are gash. Thing with Oasis' lyrics is a lot of the lines make no sense whatsoever but so many oasis songs just have that one line or two which make it. Some might say being a classic example. On DM there's not one song I don't like. Even Digsy's Dinner is a great one to blast out. Supersonic would be one of my least favourites.
