trousers Posted 13 January, 2014 Posted 13 January, 2014 so, Villa lost to Arsenal tonight so the gap between 9th (us) and 10th stays at 7 points. Splendid.
Wiggles31 Posted 13 January, 2014 Posted 13 January, 2014 Will be a tough game but aren't they all away from home. We have a stronger team so would like to think a win but given their mini revival I fancy a score draw. Would like to get one over Poyet again. Like someone said earlier depends which two teams turn up. 2-2.

Like someone said earlier depends which two teams turn up. 2-2. Yeah, if we turn up, we could get three points; but if Man City take to the pitch, instead of Saints, we're sure to get nothing from this game. Likewise, if some other team emerges from the tunnel, instead of Sunderland, it probably means we're at the wrong stadium - which also means zero points.

Lets have Brazil for us and Farnborough for them. 202 - 0 to us.
Saint_clark Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 so, Villa lost to Arsenal tonight so the gap between 9th (us) and 10th stays at 7 points. Splendid. Looking at the next round of fixtures that could be up to 10 by next weekend, that'd be nice.
Mowgli Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 Looking at the next round of fixtures that could be up to 10 by next weekend, that'd be nice. Need to look up not down. We can make up the ground almost as quickly as we lost it over Christmas given our run of fixtures.
Graffito Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 Mauricio Pochettino @MoPoch - Puedes quedarte con nosotros? @guspoyet #SUNSOU Can you stay with us? Bit cosy.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 I can see a home win or at best a draw to be honest...probably 1-1. We tend to struggle against teams like Sunderland, however if the lads are really up for a fight then we might nick it 1-2.

You've fearlessly covered all the bases - we'll lose; we'll draw; or we'll win.
Jonnyboy Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 Can you stay with us? Bit cosy. Isn't that a bit like "can you keep up with us?" Like when he was at Brighton.
Lets B Avenue Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 You've fearlessly covered all the bases - we'll lose; we'll draw; or we'll win. He's obviously not worried about bad weather.
FloatingbridgeSaint Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the players have one eye on getting to the Carling Cup Final as they have the 2nd leg to play a few days later. i'm going for a 3nil win for us.
Graffito Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 (edited) "Isn't that a bit like "can you keep up with us?" Like when he was at Brighton" I think that's exactly what it is. Witty by Pochettino. Edited 14 January, 2014 by Graffito
hasper57saint Posted 14 January, 2014 Posted 14 January, 2014 Some years ago Sunderland fielded lots of North Easterners, one of whom was my most favourite player of all time, Len Shackleton. Now,like so many of us in the Prem, have non-Brits in the team. (In Poyets case most of them!) and because of this we have the advantage of passionate young British players who want to play for the Saints and NOT just for the wages. Poyet has mustered a squad of 'journeymen' who don't like the cold. (I hope it bloody snows a blizzard) I don't often make predictions but when I do I'm usually quite close to the prediction. Saints to WIN by two clear goals. COYS
Giamlarrahan Posted 15 January, 2014 Posted 15 January, 2014 Hopefully we'll finally shake off the BTSport curse.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 15 January, 2014 Posted 15 January, 2014 We owe them one for their scabby draw at ours. Hope we score early, bore the arse of them with keepball and keep a clean sheet. 3 points, minimal entertainment value, up yours Mackems.
Aardvark Posted 15 January, 2014 Posted 15 January, 2014 Realise this game is on BT Sports TV, worth the effort getting it signed up! Also means can see all the games in January now and avoid a very long trip up north. COYB! Anybody know any pub or club in or around Salisbury that is showing this?
oldsarum Posted 15 January, 2014 Posted 15 January, 2014 Anybody know any pub or club in or around Salisbury that is showing this? Would have suggested the Devizes Inn, but that's just closed The Cathedral Hotel in centre of town has SKy games, but not sure about BT games

Dalek2003 Posted 15 January, 2014 Posted 15 January, 2014 We need 3 points so we get over the 40 point finishing line asap.
Saint Garrett Posted 15 January, 2014 Posted 15 January, 2014 We need 3 points so we get over the 40 point finishing line asap. For once I agree with you. Lose a few on the bounce, manager leaves and then a few players jump ship, we could be in a lot of trouble
saints_is_the_south Posted 15 January, 2014 Posted 15 January, 2014 Sunderland with morale boosted after their thumping of Fulham last weekend, against Saints a club now in turmoil. Can't see anything but a home win. People will say the players are professionals and it should be make no difference to the match, but it will be in their heads and it will make a difference. 2-0 Sunderland.
Batman Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Meltdown will really start if we get comfortably beaten in this game
St.Patrik Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 I think I will break my non betting promise for this game since this must be the easiest home win this weekend.....Just look at the Cardiff players when they where in the same ****e as us - they didn´t even cared about that game and it was at home.... Sunderland must be thanking all gods there is for this turnmoil going on since they need 3points so bad.
fez Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Curiously the odds on Betfair have not changed at all since the "turmoil" started. Saints are still favourites to win at 2.44 while Sunderland are 3.25. So the wise world of betting doesn't think that NC's departure will make any difference to our performance on Sat

Saint_Tony Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Sunderland must be worth a bet at those odds. Just need to wait for confirmation from Glasgow whether they'll win

Window Cleaner Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 This thread should be re-titled as "Never mind the bo1lox, here's the football"
Saints Warrior Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 I had 4-1 to Saints but now not sure, could be anyhting. 1-1 if we defend well. Dont expect the normal high line and those being sold may not bother.

Dont expect the normal high line and those being sold may not bother. just can't see what difference it will make as long as Mauricio doesn't quit today as well. the players obviously knew that something was going down, some might even had a bit of a hollow period a couple of games back, but that's past now and for the time being I can't see it not being business as usual.
dellboypete Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Almost forgot there was a game on this weekend with all this excitement! And I'm going!!
richard Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 If Lallana's playing he'll get everyone going, like he has done when he has come on as a sub and lifted the team. Sunderland 1 3 Saints.
badgerx16 Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 MoPo staying, 'nobody for sale', Saints win - Kismet.
dubai_phil Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 We'll tear them a new one..... Team talk... "Win it for Nicola" nuff said
Dalek2003 Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 I am glad that people have started talking about the forthcoming football match. Whatever happens we have to stay focused on gathering the points, securing safety first then pushing up the league. i hope the players just let all the CEO owner stuff take its course. Only time will determine the direction of the club. In the meantime it is the football that counts !

Leicestersaint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Hopefully a second clean sheet in a row - 2 - 0 to us.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 You've fearlessly covered all the bases - we'll lose; we'll draw; or we'll win. Well kind of...I have provided the criteria for us getting 3 points to be fair. Depends on who the players respect the most perhaps...NC or MoPo?
SNSUN Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Big Vic training in the videos...Wanyama vs Altidore would be an amazing spectacle.
Dr Who? Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 Old Gus is being very kind about the way we play..... We will draw 1-1
bpsaint Posted 16 January, 2014 Posted 16 January, 2014 I know it may just be a bit of good natured propaganda, but the players all look in good spirits on the gallery. I'm a lot more confident that I was this time yesterday, 2-0 Saints.
