lickierambert Posted 4 January, 2014 Share Posted 4 January, 2014 The draw for the 4th round takes place after the Nottingham Forest vs West Ham game on ITV at approximately 2pm Who do we want?-Port Vale/Plymouth at home would do nicely. Interesting fact-there are more teams from League 1 and below than the Premier League left in the FA Cup this year.

Do you know which 'B' list celebrities (who ITV expect us to be impressed by) are performing this task live with the back drop of an empty Wembley stadium ? Oh for the days on Monday lunchtime, smuggle the radio to wherever you might be, Cup Draws.

CB Fry Posted 4 January, 2014 Share Posted 4 January, 2014 Dont worry, it´ll be Arsenal at home. Twice in 4 days. Then we can have a tedious week arguing about which of the two games is more important. Fantastic. Just so everyone knows, the correct answer is the cup game is more important. One of my fave FA Cup memories was myself and about 10 work mates huddled around a pokey little radio listening to Sven Goran Eriksson drawing Watford then us out of the hat in 03. Cue wild celebrations in the canteen! Back to the op, and I'd ideally like a lower league team at home in the next round. Bournemouth if they get through would be a laugh. I'm sure everybody can remember where they were when they heard that cup draw. I was sitting in the car at Hamble foreshore. I called my daughter straight away, we couldn't believe our luck. Matthew Le God Posted 5 January, 2014 Share Posted 5 January, 2014 I want the same as I do for every cup draw... the easiest opponent left in the competition at St Mary's, so Southampton have the best possible chance of progressing and winning the cup. Window Cleaner Posted 5 January, 2014 Share Posted 5 January, 2014 (edited) Bad side, at home...someone like Southend or Rochdale. We'll need to rest some of our players again for the 4th round because it's going to be sandwiched between Sunderland away and Arsenal at home. Wouldn't want to trekking off far away on Sat or Sun with the Arse at home on Tuesday. Edited 5 January, 2014 by Window Cleaner

These two up to scratch for you? Desperate scraping of the barrel isn't it ? Really does prove my point, although I would not even elevate either of these long forgotten cretins to the status of " 'B' list celebrities ". Martin Allen in keeping with a 'family image' that the FA wish to portray ? This is from his time at Cheltenham Town alone : http://www.gloucestercitizen.co.uk/Martin-Allen-accused-racially-abusing-bouncer/story-11882980-detail/story.html (although he was cleared of the above) http://www.gloucestercitizen.co.uk/Robins-boss-barred-pub-antics/story-11937505-detail/story.html And, I recall a story that he was kicked out of the skates as a player for 'indecency' ? Even more ridiculous, is that six ties will kick off today, knowing their potential opponents in the next round. One of the great aspects of the cup, especially third round, was not knowing and dreaming - if a smaller club - who they might get as a reward for going through. SW5 SAINT Posted 5 January, 2014 Share Posted 5 January, 2014 Seems to be something missing at cup draw time these days, we know there is not the remotest chance of drawing pompey. This because they could not possibly have made it through to the level where Southampton enter the competition.

Hatch Posted 5 January, 2014 Share Posted 5 January, 2014 judging from what I've seen so far, there is not a chance in hell of West Ham being in the draw. Their 'reserve team' is atrocious.
